    D&D 5E (2014) A Board Game style Release Schedule

Having Elemental Evil set in Faerun is bad enough... setting Castle Greyhawk there would cause The Invoked Nerd Rage Devastation.

    D&D 5E (2014) A Board Game style Release Schedule

It's wishful thinking more than anything else. At the same time, it does make sense on a few levels. First off Gail Gygax pulled the license from Troll Lord Games following Gary's passing. WotC would have the $$$ to purchase it and produce it as a quality product that's in keeping with their...

    D&D 5E (2014) A Board Game style Release Schedule

My guess (actually it's more like my hope) is that WotC has purchased Gary Gygax's Castle Greyhawk maps and campaign notes from his widow. With these materials they'll release a mega-adventure set in the Castle and its environs, including The City of Greyhawk. This, in turn, will tie into...

    D&D 5E (2014) A Board Game style Release Schedule

Would it be as frustrating if WotC were to offer converted classic adventures for use with 5th edition? I'd be pleased with this BUT would prefer to see new adventures as well (as long as they aren't mega-adventures like we've been seeing so far).

    D&D 5E (2014) A Board Game style Release Schedule

I'm going with my gut DEFCON 1. PDF sales of older materials seems to be doing well so, by extension, offering pdf conversions for 5th edition would probably do well. No need to get snarky.

    D&D 5E (2014) A Board Game style Release Schedule

I'd like to see WotC work out an OGL-esque license so that other companies can publish short adventures that can be plugged into any campaign setting. As a lazy DM it would be great to see more pre-published adventures out there. I'm happy with a slow release schedule for rulebooks but think...

D&D 5E (2014) Can I get Feedback on my Wizard?

A lot of your choices should be based on how you're going to define your character. Here are some thoughts on your guy: 1] Human is a solid choice for any character. The variant works really well, especially since you rolled well for your ability scores. 2] Your ability score placement looks...

[UPDATED] Issues With Official D&D 5E Spell Cards?

That's the same response I got... which is perfect!

Sharing house rules and setting encyclopedia

I share my houserules and Planescape notes on my D&D website, in the Houserules and Campaign Worlds sections. My homebrew 5th edition world, Gaile, has its own site, while my classic Greyhawk conversion is on my Greyhawk page. D&D is all about creating and sharing new worlds, so I share...

[UPDATED] Issues With Official D&D 5E Spell Cards?

They've done right by me as well. I very grateful that the CEO stepped in to handle this and set things straight.

[UPDATED] Issues With Official D&D 5E Spell Cards?

Hopefully I get the same response CNYGamer99. At this point I've gotten an apologetic email from the CEO but no reply as to how to return my Arcane Deck in exchange for the updated cards.

[UPDATED] Issues With Official D&D 5E Spell Cards?

At this point I should just cancel the rest of my order and order them through a more professional vendor. ;)

[UPDATED] Issues With Official D&D 5E Spell Cards?

When I tried to contact GF9 directly they gave me the run-around and directed me to email Battlefront minis. It looks, to me, like Battlefront is trying to get rid of their old stock and refusing to accept returns so that they can unload cards that will soon out-dated.

[UPDATED] Issues With Official D&D 5E Spell Cards?

I've had the EXACT same exchange with them. I placed an order with Gale Force 9 and specifically asked that my order be held until the next printing was released (as I wanted the cards with rounded-edges). My request was acknowledged but the current Arcane Spell cards were sent in error...

D&D 5E (2014) Running the classics in 5e - best of the best?

Right now I'm mashing up A0: Danger at Darkshelf Quarry with U1: The Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh. That will lead into T1: The Village of Hommlet with elements of N1: Against the Cult of the Reptile God, and B2: Keep on the Borderlands. Eventually the players will encounter The Slavelords...

    Vision & Light

My wife has the same problems at dawn and dusk BUT I think imposing disadvantage on all players Perception checks in those conditions is a bit harsh. Then again I may just have exceptional eyesight! :D

    Vision & Light

Wow! That's some write-up. I'll have to look it over and see what I'll pull from it.

D&D 5E (2014) Running the classics in 5e - best of the best?

As a rough estimate I divide all treasure listed in old adventures by 10 to determine its value in 5th edition. Magic items, of course, are much rarer (except for potions and scrolls).

D&D 5E (2014) Where does the punitive approach to pc death come from?

I recently joined (and promptly left) a Pathfinder game where the DM had me make up a 1st level character to join a group of 5th level characters. It sucked...
