sigh... this was awhile ago. This gets marched out in a lot of discussions despite no longer being true.

I guess it depends on how you define attention to detail… AI is very very good at spotting minute differences in things which is why it’s so good at diagnostics. For a human to spot those things I’d say they have a high attention to detail. But I could see that phrase meaning something else as...

The economy is already driven by the top 20% earning households. The top 20% in the USA are already responsible for 60% of all consumer spending and increasingly the target of new products and services. As the rich get richer the percentage of people keeping the economy going was always going...

Yes but corporations have a history of undercutting to wipeout competition (in this case human workers) and then cranking up the prices once you have no viable competition. If you've have wiped out all coding jobs and people stop going to school to be programmers what option will companies have...

But what is a "good" boardgame. From most perspectives it's one that makes money. Look at all the rehashes of Monopoly. I don't think anyone would say they are "good" games but yet someone has been paid quite a bit (in the aggregate) to create those. Are we sad that job will be replaced by AI...

I'm in the same boat. Just hoping I can hang on another 5 years. My sister who works in finance at a bank in Canada is also in the same boat. She says they've already eliminated 2 layers below her. She'd like to hang on another 5-7 as well but isn't sure, that will be possible.

True innovation doesn't come along very often, it's hard. Most industry's go a very long time without seeing true innovation that's just the way it is.

I think anyone that works in software/tech has been in multiple meetings where they were basically told they will be replaced in the not to distant future. We just aren’t used to it, but threatening people that they can be/will be easily replaced by someone who will do it cheaper has been a...

Maybe he’s planning on creating a company that uses AI to create games? It would be an interesting experiment given all this.

It does feel like we are rapidly approaching a time that human art/creativity will only continue if people make the conscious choice to support it. I don’t see any reason why ai couldn’t create a board game if given some parameters. It can spit out a video game after all and it can teach itself...

AI/LLMs Hasbro CEO Says AI Integration Has Been "A Clear Success"

Yes, sometimes I need to tell AI to give me a solution as if X didn't exists (because X doesn't, but AI think's it does). One time I shared the spec with AI and it agreed the functionality didn't exist but then proceeded to try to do it again, other times it has course corrected.

OK, I've had pretty good luck with AI building me pretty complicated database scripts, but I haven't used datasphere. I assumed SAP would have everything about their scripting functionality in a nice package for AI at this point. Knowing SAP they might be holding back in order to sell you their...

We All Won – The OGL Three Years Later

I AM NOT A LAWYER, and I live in Canada. But I have been involved in creating contracts. Even being one of the people that was at the table when specific language was crafted (and had documentation as to what was meant) I was later told by a judge that the intent didn't matter what mattered was...

AI/LLMs Hasbro CEO Says AI Integration Has Been "A Clear Success"

Like a human I find AI is pretty good with Database stuff if it has full access to all documentation and spec. If it's flying blind it's basically guessing. If you don't have stuff fully documented and specc'ed out I usually find it helps to export table creation script's in text files for it to...

I'm also in IT. I've had AI write a lot of code for me. Sometimes it misses and isn't great but often I get pretty good code.

This is a terrible prompt though. If someone gave me this in an email I would have questions. This seems like a prompt designed to fail, ie. something a person would write when they want an answer they can write-off. I'm not surprised you didn't get useable output. I think we have to...

    Spider-Man: Noir

I think I will watch both versions, the b&w followed by the colour. Originally I didn’t think I would watch the colour version but after watching both versions of the trailer I did pickup details in the colour I had missed in the B&W.

    Spider-Man: Noir

Yes but that’s not the tagline they went for ¯\(ツ)/¯ Cage’s description of his portrayal: “a retired hero who was once known as The Spider, who left his double life behind after tragedy struck. Cage has described his performance as "70 percent Bogart, 30 percent Bugs Bunny."” And apparently...

    Spider-Man: Noir

I didn’t say he was seething with murderous rage. I said the comics have pointed out time and again the lengths he goes to “pull his punches”. And how suffers due to not wanting to overly hurt someone. There have been comics where he isn’t Spider-Man any more… spoiler life isn’t any better for...
