    Do Malconvokers eventually get eaten?

Again, specific trumps general. It is not normally possible to critically fail on a charisma check. It is, however, possible to have Bad Things Happen if you roll a 1 on a charisma check when casting one of the Planar Binding spells, regardless of how high your charisma is. This might not...

    Do Malconvokers eventually get eaten?

Hmmmmmm. Well, as long as the player knows that going in, I suppose. It does add a certain poetry to the class, or at least poetic justice. :)

    Do Malconvokers eventually get eaten?

Specific trumps general. From the SRD on lesser planar binding: "If you roll a 1 on the Charisma check, the creature breaks free of the binding and can escape or attack you." Planar Binding, Lesser :: d20srd.org So now that that is out of the way, am I right? Does the Malconvoker eventually...

    Do Malconvokers eventually get eaten?

It seems that Malconvokers get all sorts of bonuses with respect to summoning and planar binding evil creatures, but nothing that removes that pesky 5% chance of the fiend breaking out and ruining the Malconvoker's afternoon (and maybe afterlife). A natural 1 on the charisma check to make a...

A quick question. Suggestions are welcome!

If you have Power Attack you might consider Cleave.

    D&D 3.x [3.5] Rogue / Wizard Build

Arcane Trickster is a possibility, right in the DMG.

    D&D truth I discovered today.

Naw, just tried Phantasmal Killer on a victim that made their will save and happened to be telepathic so it bounced back on me, so I had to make a will save (failed), got a reroll on that due to a feat (but failed) and then got to make a fort save (and failed). The classic "No, no! Not me...

D&D 3.x [3.5] Tiers and Magic of Incarnum

A rough gradation of power levels. Tier 1 is uber-powerful, and so sometimes difficult for a DM to provide challenges for. Tier 6 is very weak, and so sometimes difficult for a DM not to overwhelm.

    deck of cards

If you remove the Aces, it becomes much easier. 2% chance of any given card. Alternatively you could remove Jacks. Or a really fun option: Have 7 suits of cards from ace to king, and 9 Jokers. Then there is a 1% chance of any given card.

    D&D truth I discovered today.

Those who live by the high DC phantasmal killer spell, die by the high DC phantasmal killer spell. Darn Telepaths. :)

A quick question. Suggestions are welcome!

There is some special magical chainmail that makes you immune to fatigue and exhaustion. Armour of the Unending Hunt, Complete Warrior, p. 134. +2 and Mithral, built by elves, so thematically appropriate. Do you have 21 500 gp to spare? :)

WHat are the best books/items ever for D&D? :)

Because I ignored the OP in my enthusiasm. :) That said, I got the Warriors and Warlocks supplement and like that too. :)

    Reducing Options to Increase Fun

Actually, for 3.5 they did. PHB II has rules in the back for making characters, and except for detailed lists of gear you can use it to, for a large number of classes, choose one of three choices for feats, and then just go with their choices for spells, skills, etc. The class already...

My Friend Wants Me To Help Him With His Game

I would like to see your friend to call it "Fantasy Heartbreaker" just because I would love for a game designer to have the balls to call their game that and try to sell it.

Feats that let you use Cha instead of Wis/Int for spell DCs?

Is there a feat that lets one use Charisma instead of Intelligence or Wisdom for setting spell DCs? I have a charismatic cleric or wizard in mind but am not sure if it will work.

WHat are the best books/items ever for D&D? :)

1e's fab 5 (players handbook, monster manual, fiend folio, monster manual II and definitely the DMG). The Dragonlance novels. As a kid, I loved these. Dungeon! the board game. Fun in itself, plus I raided it for its miniatures. B/X - Moldvay/Cook rules. My favorite. Rules Cyclopedia - But...

What could a publisher sell you RIGHT NOW/

Gem Magic If someone put in the effort to write dead tree book called "Gem Magic" or something, that was simply a reskinning of the psionic rules of the OGL that took out all references to anything "psionic" and replaced the psionic fluff with a type of magical fluff (Gem Magic might be easier...

    Reducing Options to Increase Fun

I am surprised no one has mentioned Castles and Crusades yet, since that is meant to be a simpler version of OGL D&D. Another "option" for 3.5 would be to use only the three generic classes form Unearthed Arcana (warrior, expert, spellcaster) also in the SRD. I can see options getting...

Class that would complement a Scout/Ranger, Barbarian, Cleric and Vampire

I think the DM might just instigate a meta-rule called "don't jerk around your fellow players" and call it a day. That way it applies no matter what characters are in play. That said, the vampire-now-psion might simply have fun sending hordes of minions to deal with his enemy (or a few really...

D&D 3.x [3.5] Tiers and Magic of Incarnum

Where do Incarnate, Soulborn and Totemist fit in, according to the Tier 1 to Tier 6 categories? I am trying to get a feel for Magic of Incarnum.
