What are the opinions on Ptolus?

I don't think it is worthy of the money based in what was showed so far. It is a luxurious product and, as such, it justify its price much more in terms of the format than the contents. For a game based in imagination, the luxurious aspect seems of little importance. Also, it is too big...

    Treasure and leveling comparisons: AD&D1, B/ED&D, and D&D3 - updated 11-17-08 (Q1)

We used and it does make a difference as, in many modules, it's easy to accumulate experience points, especially for low level characters. We never used training, though, although I personally gave only one tenth of the printed treasure to players and still I think it was too much -- in my own...

    Is Sword and Board viable?

More than viable, the armored fighter using sword and shield is one of the strongest archetypes of any medieval like combat and so, it is pretty cool in itself. I haven't read the PHB2 and so I cannot comment about the shield feats there but I hope they are really good, as shields in D&D are...

How many core classes can we expected in 4th ed?

I've no idea of what they are planning, but I would go with four and treat all the rest as prestige classes -- except for a few that might be base classes in specific campaign settings. This would give more control to the GM and allow a simpler game that may help to introduce more people to the...

    TSR Q&A with Gary Gygax

I played T1-T4 but we stopped at the Temple door. However the part around Hommlet really captured my imagination. I found it to be quite refreshing compared to your other modules and it would be great if you could not only supervise but actually finish the whole book.

TSR's "subliminal" message about PC power level

I also prefer BD&D ability bonuses as they use a normal distribution. In the other hand, AD&D ability bonuses are pretty messy as they usually don't mean anything if less than 15, which is a pretty high number to obtain by the standard method. This feature estimulated many people to devise new...

    TSR Q&A with Gary Gygax

Colonel, What about the initial part of the Temple of Elemental Evil, up to the end of the moathouse? It's one of my favorite memory of a game, although it strikes me as quite diferent from your other books. Was it intentional to expand the kind of modules offered? Best wishes, Ron

    What alignment is House?

House personality is not well captured in an alignment system. He's arrogant, yes. Still, he cares about some of his patients and he take care of his team even. However, he doesn't like to show his feelings and thus he uses his a*hole mask to protect his own vulnerability.

    Favourite D&D Adventure?

Mine would be T1-The Village of Homlet and I-6 Ravenloft. I still have a soft spot for G1-3, but it is not up to the quality of those two.

Should WoTC Bring back Classic D&D?

As sad as it is, I couldn't agree more. I think their strategy is to replace the basic line with the miniatures line. As far as WotC is concerned, miniatures are more lucrative, which really justify their decision.

    Civilization 4 Expansion disc: thoughts?

My driver is version 8.241.0.0 from March, 21th. I already downgraded image quality to medium, which helped a lot but not enough to prevent the problems. My video card has 256 MB of memory and the computer have 1 GB. Still, I believe Civ 4 is leaking and consuming all the memory available.

Do you use Npc classes for your Npcs?

All the nobles in my games has at least one level of Aristocrat, so I would say yes.

    Too Many Books. . .?

There is a potential problem with WotC releasing as many new rules books as they can but I am in no condition to evaluate if it is real as I quit buying new rules books with 3.5. If the new books allow characters more powerful than core and earlier supplements then it will cause many people to...

    Civilization 4 Expansion disc: thoughts?

My video card is based in an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro, which is not that old. Still, I'm having all sort of troubles with a few games. Civ is perhaps the greatest offender, because, unlike the others, I really like it. Next time, I'll go with a nVidea card.

    Civilization 4 Expansion disc: thoughts?

Great! I really liked Civ 4, even after skipping Civ 3, which I still think to be inferior to Civ 2. However, even after the latest upgrade Civ 4 is still very buggy. I don't remember playing a single game to the end without crashing. Perhaps they should concentrate in improving their product...

Should WoTC Bring back Classic D&D?

I would love such product but I would never release it if the decision was mine to make. First of all, there is no sense in creating a second line without synergy with the main product. However, I would examine the old basic sales and perhaps discuss the possibility of releasing a new basic line...

Anyone ever play a dumb sorcerer?

During the first time I played AD&D Oriental Adventures I was able to generate a Wu-Jen with a Int score of 9, despite the fact I rolled it with the Unearthed Arcana method. It was a such rare event that I had to play it. It was very funny, especially because I played him stupid, as his Int...

    Are you a Grognard?

I'm definitely a grognard. Although I've never played miniatures (even in RPGs) and started with the Molday's basic D&D box, my first love always was board wargames. I have a few of them myself and, although I still play them from time to time, I wish I could do it more.

In Addition To RPGs, Do You Play Wargames (Including Tactical Miniatures Games)?

Yes I do but it is hard to find other players. Still, I don't play miniatures, only boardwargames.

Do You Prefer to Play One of the Four Primary Base Classes (Clr, Ftr, Rog, Wiz)?

I tend to play rangers or wizards. From time to time I would play a rogue or rarely a bard.
