Artwork is not unnecessary, I would say for many people its the important part in settings because it can set the mood etc. not even speaking about maps (and monster art) Also professional layout, editing, etc.

Well given that 5e was made popular by stranger things among othets, I think it would absolutely make sense to make an Urban Fantasy Setting. Recreating Stranger Things itself completely with it might be hard, but one could still go for the same atmosphere etc.

Urban Fantasy in general is used for: "We have a big city in which normal people dont know about magic etc even though it exists." So vampire the masqerade. Or Buffy (although that plays not in a big town) and harry potter world (when you go more to new york).

On the other hand the Ivalice setting was used by multiple final fantasies including the final fantasy tactics. Also being a lot about political intrigue ans is more specificetc. It could be a quite different D&D settting to the "mixed" forgotten worlds. I feel the 14 one is also like forgotten...
