D&D General What do you like about Eberron?

It's dragons all the way down. :)

D&D General What do you like about Eberron?

Eberron's unique planar cosmology also appeals to me. I like the idea that it's not assumed to be part of a wider multiverse, and having the planes "orbit" the material plane in such a way that their effects can be more keenly felt upon the world at certain times opens up new possibilities for...

    Homebrew Homebrew: Fixing the Rogue

It sounds a bit unwieldy to me. Would you still require both rolls to hit to trigger sneak attack damage on a critical hit?

D&D General What do you like about Eberron?

That's another thing I really like about the setting, it has a sense of progress. Many established settings have been in medieval stasis for centuries, and there's a sense that the most powerful magics are those of a lost age, but in Eberron there's a sense of forward progression, and great and...

D&D General Exhaustion levels *before* death saves

Assuming you're using the 2014 exhaustion rules, running away will be tricky once they hit level 2 exhaustion. And the exhaustion effects are a bit weird in this context. For purposes of a first level character who is actually staying in the fight rather than escaping, levels 1, 2 and 4...

D&D General What do you like about Eberron?

Distant gods. Religion plays a strong part in every culture, but direct divine intervention just doesn't really happen, making religion a matter of faith rather than fact. "PCs are special." Back when it was first released and there were actual NPC classes, it was rare to see an NPC with a PC...

    General star wars talk/discussion/complaining

It's also a genre you need to be in the mood for, though, and maybe wasn't the right show to either introduce or showcase a new setting.

    Chocolate and _____?

Which is good, as it gives me "video unavailable".

D&D General Exhaustion levels *before* death saves

As I haven't read the previous thread you mentioned, can you clarify what "before death saves" actually means in this context? I was picturing the character still going unconscious, but accumulating exhaustion levels instead of death save fails each round. Is it instead that they remain...

D&D General Exhaustion levels *before* death saves

For this scenario I don't see how having players come to grips with custom death and dying rules and then cope with applying penalties to their rolls is significantly less of a learning curve than just starting them at level 2.

What videogames are you playing in 2026?

I'm kinda tempted to play as Gale, and immediately respec him to Barbarian just for giggles.

    Chocolate and _____?

Is that an Americanism, I wonder? In the UK, regular fudge doesn't contain chocolate, though it can be flavoured with it - or any of a number of other flavours.

    Chocolate and _____?

A few more options: Fudge, honeycomb (not the real honey one, the kind you get in Crunchie bars), various types of biscuit or wafer (i.e. kit-kat, chocolate digestives).

D&D 5E (2024) Getting ready to use the Portable Hole + Bag of holding trick

Indeed, but my point was more that if a DM in a contemporary game gives out both those items and then just relies upon "well, the players know better" for his game to not spontaneously transform into a planar adventure at some random point, it's a bit hypocritical to then turn around and say...

D&D 5E (2024) Getting ready to use the Portable Hole + Bag of holding trick

More to the point, if you rule that the characters don't know this info and give them both items, how do they go for weeks afterwards without ever just happening to put one inside the other? The portable hole is effectively a small room that you can step into, and would need to step into to...

Trailer Godzilla Minus Zero Teaser Trailer

Gotta wonder where they can go with the numbering scheme after this. Godzilla +1 sounds like he's turned up with a date to the party.

What videogames are you playing in 2026?

To be fair, Karlach talking to herself feels more natural to her character than it would for a lot of the other origin characters. Hard to imagine either Shadowheart or Lae'zel engaging in much self-reflection, and if Wyll tried it he'd probably wind up berating himself for making a deal with a...

What videogames are you playing in 2026?

I haven't played through a lot of them, but I'd rate Lae'zel a little higher than that. I had a good time playing as her, and her story feels more closely intertwined with the main plot than most others'.

What videogames are you playing in 2026?

My first playthrough was with a custom character, tried Dark Urge for my second and didn't get along with it. Aside from that I've played origin characters - my most complete playthrough was as Lae'zel, I've played as Karlach and my current one is as Shadowheart. For me, being able to explore...

What videogames are you playing in 2026?

I don't particularly want to 'break' anything (I've never seriously employed barrels en masse to tip the result in fights, for instance) but I do appreciate a game that rewards outside-the-box thinking and nonstandard solutions. The issue there is that in any given playthrough you may choose to...
