    D&D General Unseelie Court members

Are you looking for only 5e/D&D references? Or historical folklore references? Here's a good list I used when I did Twilight Fables a few years ago: Briggs, Katharine Mary (1976). “Euphemistic names for fairies.” An Encyclopedia of Fairies. New York: Pantheon Books Ellis, Thomas Peter., and...

AI/LLMs AI art bans are going to ruin small 3rd party creators

Every time this topic comes up, someone always brings up Andy Warhol as some sort of justification or analogy of using anothers' work and it being OK. But every keeps forgetting that Andy isn't exactly the best example to use for your (general you) argument because the Supreme Court actually...

AI/LLMs AI art bans are going to ruin small 3rd party creators

I’ve worked with lots of artists over the past 25 years. 95% have been great to work with. Reading these posts, and it seems to me it’s not the artist’s egos that are the problem …

AI/LLMs AI art bans are going to ruin small 3rd party creators

Clearly. Start by looking up why copyright and trademark laws exist. Here’s the definition While I am not a lawyer, I have read from many lawyers how copyright infringement is theft because it’s depriving the owner of control over what is theirs, and deprives them of monetary value (like...

AI/LLMs AI art bans are going to ruin small 3rd party creators

I know ENworld doesn't represent the gaming world as a whole, but it's a fair metric for certain things; at least a good start on getting a general idea. So I'd suggest folks look at this thread and any number of the same threads we have every 2 months and look at how many people in our...

AI/LLMs AI art bans are going to ruin small 3rd party creators

On a related note, I just got back as a vendor from a convention (Gamestorm), and most conventions I've been to, if any vendor showed up with AI work, they would be run out of the building (It actually happened in a big Chicago comicon a year or so ago IIRC). That seems like a majority to me...

AI/LLMs AI art bans are going to ruin small 3rd party creators

Point of fact, it's not your work. That's like, literally the entire point of this conversation. And whether you intended to or not, illustrates the divide. Folks like you keep thinking that using AI prompts makes it your work. It's not. And never will be. Clearly you seem passionate about...

AI/LLMs AI art bans are going to ruin small 3rd party creators

Yeah, I do, and I don't think you're reading the same thing everyone else is. No one said you have to use stock art if you don't want to or don't like it. I brought it up originally because of the discussion around people who want art but can't/don't want to pay for the "professional" look that...

Coming NinjaDark: A Japanese-inspired setting for Shadowdark RPG

How many people of Japanese heritage did you use as consultants and/or artists for this Japanese inspired game?

That was, but I think you missed my point. I asked for evidence for people who aren't using AI being banned. Since there are none, there's your answer! Don't use AI in your work, and you won't get banned. And because I'm a helpful person, I gave alternative solutions to AI that are not only...

I said where is the evidence people are being banned for NOT using AI. My evidence is in the link I provided in an earlier response.

I don't know what your question has to do with my post, but based on the bolded parts above, I'm not going to respond to you anyway. Not if you're going to insist on characterizing people who disagree with you like that. Too much hostility for me to spend time on. Have a good day.

    AD&D 2E AD&D on D&D Beyond? One Man's Dreams...

Unfortunately this. I just don't think there is enough player base to pay Wotc $ to justify the costs of doing so. Anecdotal, but most of the OSR people I know steadfastly refuse to pay WotC a penny....

AI/LLMs AI art bans are going to ruin small 3rd party creators

It is not 100% your vision. It's as close as AI can get using information it already has in it's database. If it doesn't exist in the database, you will never get "your" vision. Relying on ad hominems to disregard the factual process AI uses isn't helpful or productive.

AI/LLMs AI art bans are going to ruin small 3rd party creators

Everything AI is returning is based off a database of stolen art. It’s not the same. When I draw an eyeball, it’s going to have tweaks, quirks, and bits exactly how I want to draw it. AI will never be able to get an eyeball (or face or body) exactly how I envision it. It will try to get as close...

AI/LLMs AI art bans are going to ruin small 3rd party creators

This is not true. AI is still using it's database of stolen artwork to do what you want. All option 2 is doing is "instead of basing my image on Frank Frazetta's database, you want larger eyes so I'll make that image using Hayao Miyazaki's database for the eye part." That's a bit of a...

AI/LLMs AI art bans are going to ruin small 3rd party creators

This is 100% my experience. I've seen it personally, as a small creator, seeing work I've done get lost in the flood of products. It's basic math. If you're stuff is 5% of what's being released that month, and now it's less than 1% because there's a ton of AI stuff, less people are going to...

AI/LLMs AI art bans are going to ruin small 3rd party creators

Where is your evidence that they are being removed due to not using AI? As I keep saying, there is a ton of stock art out there that is just as good as the "big boys". Dean Spencer comes to mind, and his NPC and monster portraits are $3 each. If small 3PP are being removed, it's for reasons...

AI/LLMs AI art bans are going to ruin small 3rd party creators

Not really true. Either way, not the point. The point is that there are tons of high quality professional level stock art options out there. Absolutely no need to go the AI route. I'd argue you'd sell less with AI, because so many people hate it.
