Rakasta lore is more in line with Leonin than Tabaxi, which basically seem like 5e's take on khajit. Yes I know they've existed since the Fiend Folio... just referring to their 5e iteration.

Lupin are new to 5e as is Cthulhu whom I don't think we've seen in an official D&D product since the original Deities & Demigods for AD&D.

The game is mid tier at best imho and the only reason it's having such massive success is the Critical Role connection. And yes, I have played it.

Tried it at PAX West last year - not my style of RPG, but others at the table seemed to be enjoying it, so there's that. I'm sure this will sell like hotcakes and sit on shelves for years to come.

Nah. The point of the original and this reboot is a sandbox setting with emergent play... not an adventure on rails.

Jedi Survivor games were amazing - so this could be good. Not sure that's the style of game I want for D&D, but will reserve judgement until more is known.

No I didn't - but judging from some comments I've read, others did. In any case, I'm not backing it. The PDF thing is just plain... silly. I'm being nice by the way.

So we can now see it is funding like gangbusters... however I have not backed it. Not because of the controversy being discussed here, but because of the mind boggling decision to separate the PDF and Print pledge levels in the worst way I've ever seen. $200 pledge for either the 5e or DCC...

The project will fund regardless of the feelings of a few folks here and in the YT comments. Goodman Games has a solid track record for delivering solid products and running good crowd funding campaigns. I'd bet my next couple of paychecks on it.

Too bad. You're missing out on experiences that are in many cases far superior to 5e, and made by people and smaller companies who are passionate about what they are doing as opposed to trying to chase the bottom line at the behest of a set of C suite execs somewhere who could care less. D&D is...

The Jeweler's Sanctum is a great adventure to run at conventions and a great intro to OSR style play in general.
