I'm so SURE I read it somewhere!

D&D insider here. I know that the compendium is updated every month with the month's new books, and magazine articles... but what about the character builder? I'm using the beta, and was wondering if THAT will be updated too. And of course, HOW to do it... Does anyone here know the answer?

    1 month early, I am a dad!

Diana surprised us all and came a month early... but she's already 50 cm long and weighs 3.340 Kg, so maybe it was better this way. And yes there is a pic, cause I'm a father and I'm kinda magically compulsed to brag about my baby girl. :) and I'm also too happy to think straight :)

Do dwarves care about where the sun sets?

I've recently started - thanks to the excellent related threads on here - to try my hand at cartography. I might even build up the courage to put up my map on here, though it certainly cannot hold its own when compared to the excellent pieces I've seen poste4d... anyway, never mind that...

Inspired by Clive Barker's Undying... Cackling Skulls!

I LOVED Undying, and LOVED the mechanics for channeled spells in the PHB II. So it seemed obvious to merge the two... Unfortunately, I'm definitely not very good at balancing spells. I'm DMing at the moment, and would like this to be a spell my players can find... so it's quite important that...

If a Dvati meet a Dvati coming through the rye...

Probably only those in possession of Paizo's GREAT Dragon Magazine Compendium 1 can answer this question. Dvati. A race from Paizo's Dragon Magazine Compendium which I find extremely flavorful. A rule specifically says that a Dvati is ONE character in 2 bodies. And thus, both bodies must take...

    A shadow forged in fear...

I'd like to start with a statement. I HATE the term "build" applied to an RPG character. I also hate rating a character by EFFECTIVENESS of their feats, spells, skills, class levels. This was said so as to explain what I am NOT looking for. Now. For some time, the idea of writing a character...

And a tiefling grows a tad older!

Yep - It's my Birthday. It's shameless to put it up here, but I love getting "happy B-Day"''s, and getting them from all over the world would really make my day. So, you're welcome. You can have a big cyber slice of cyber cake (wife-made tiramisu, for those in the know) if you chime in :p...

    M'lords in Translation

My weak Google-Fu isn't up to the task of finding the answer to this question... so here I am. Where an Englishman would say "M'lord", what would a Medieval German man say, when talking to his Lord? As in : Englishman: "Your guest has arrived, M'lord" German man: "Your guest, has arrived...

    Row, row, row your boat...

As some of you may have noticed, I've started my new Story Hour, Chronicles of the Orrery. (actually about 40 of you noticed , the viewcount says.) Anyway, I've stumbled into a small problem. A very polite comment from one of my players made me think about the speeds of ships as listed in the...

    Chronicles of the Orrery

Prelude All their eyes. She feels all their eyes on her, as she lets the hood fall around her neck and strides, slowly, purposefully, through the study room. Her booted feet softly clacking at every step on the marble floor, her cloak shifting at every movement, she takes her time. "Let them...

I would like input about a matter I'm not sure can be discussed on the boards....

I'll keep what I say HERE to a minimum, so I don't infringe on anything. I don't like Genasi as they're portrayed in FRCS. I like Mephlings, from Planar Handbook, far more... they're almost what I want for Genasi. Only, I'd need some advice on certain modifications.. and I cannot post those, or...

    Teleport as Mark and Recall...

Aaaaall right - a new thread. I frankly never liked teleport "as is". I don't like the possibility of teleporting to somewhere I've never been. And not just for the scry-buff-teleport thingie... Just cause it truly cheapens travel too much. What I was thinking is creating a "Mark" and a...

I'm falling! I'M FALLING! ...So what?

This is more of a curiosity, since I have already ruled that fall damage ALWAYS applies, damage reduction nonwithstanding. But I was curious... does a creature with damage reduction 30/silver only take damage from falling if it goes splat on a silver slab? What I mean is... do you think the...

And so I thought... what if mages attacked.... magically?

All right... this has been goin' round and round in my head for a long time. I don't like mages using crossbows, or darts (remember 2nd Ed.?)... mostly , I don't like the fact they were given the ability to use them (mechanically speaking) mostly to have some way to attack when they run out of...

    My fellow cartographers....

In the process of building my new campaign world, I hit an obstacle.... city maps. I can't seem to draw decently realistic ones. The world is geographically based, mostly, on Earth... and so are the cultures. Does any of my fellow ENWorlders know where I could find maps of ancient cities...

Magic is needed. In what forms, is the question.

All right.... I think it's generally agreed that PCs need the magic the system "assumes" they have a ta given level to overcome the corresponding CRs. (If it ISN'T generally agreed, please do tell me! :) ) Now... fact is I actually HATE seeing players carry around heaps of magic stuff...

    Longer feet, shorter feet

Once, in a WOTC FAQ, I read this question: "How long is a 5' step for a giant?" The answer was of course, "5 feet." All good and right. But... I was wondering whether it wouldn't be ... right... to let creatures have a LARGER distance they can move and still have a full round worth of...

Hello ev'ryone... little question about Leadership

Okay... this is probably simple enough all of you guys shall laugh at me but... In 3.0, I recall FOLLOWERS gained by the Leadership Feat could only have levels in the NPC classes... EXCLUDING adept. In 3.5 i cannot seem to find a similar rule. Do you guys (and girls): a) know whethere the...
