i would give no bonuses but if you enchant it with heavy fortification...all blows would be directed at your armor and just reflect off as well give you the ability to distract. Which could be a boon. or +1 ac 10 max dex any more than that causes chaffing.

Note: Paladin's are the last bastion of good against the forces of evil they should never need to resort to assasinations. Covert operations maybe but never assisination. Therefore that said they cannot be assisins. Especially the class which has an EVIL descriptor!

My DM has stated these things out as epic level mages carrying Gemmed staffs of Killing. Granting each of them a specific school of mastery. I don't know how but one of them throws 1080 point fireballs or insert any random element you want. Yeah that hurt.

If you want to freak them out then kill them assuming not epic characters. If their epic it is hardly a balance issue so long as you allow your players the freedom you allow your monsters. The you will only freak them out and have a lovely adventure while you laugh maniacly as their epic spell...
