Free Keep on the Shadowfell at Wizards.com

Anyone ever put together a comprehensive list of changes between the original paper release and this new PDF. I'm going through them line by line now, but if someone already did the work I'd be happy to use that instead. Especially considering that after I'm done doing that, I have to work in...

Would you subscribe to DDI if it supported older editions?

I'd definitely pay $10 for a 3.5 character builder that had all the character options from every official 3.5 supplement. Doubly so if it including a Monster Editor with all the official 3.5 critters.

Looking for the best WotC (D&D) novels from the last 15 years.

As far as I know, Wizards hasn't done any 4e specific novels. Some of the newer Forgotten Realms ones may incorporate the of the changes to the FR that happened in 4e, but there's nothing like the generic setting books with signature characters like there was in 3e. 'course I could be wrong on...

    DMG 2 on Amazon?

This happened to me a month or so ago in regards to the second monster manual; eventually it got listed as purchasable again, but then the DMG2 (which I also wanted) got removed as purchasable. :P Hopefully it'll come back.

"You're a half elf? Really?" From the P.A. Podcasts

And honestly, the only issue I have with making the character female is explaining why Han never hit on her.

"You're a half elf? Really?" From the P.A. Podcasts

It's been mentioned before, but I'll repeat it again. The reason Omin is a half-elf is because he's one of the "Keep on the Shadowfell" precreated characters. It wasn't really a active choice on Tycho's part, and I'd be willing to bet he picked the character more for the class than the race...

    2011 Campaign Setting... Azeroth?

You could still reconcile stuff (aside from the Novel "The Last Guardian" which completely screwed up any sense of timeline from Warcraft I) but they really started to marfle some stuff circa War3 and with the books that came out during that time.

    2011 Campaign Setting... Azeroth?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.. Oh god that's a good one. :D Warcraft 3 and the first set of Warcraft books were the start of Blizzard's crazy inconsistency wagon, but if you look hard enough you can even find incongruence’s between Warcraft 1 and Warcraft 2. Granted, WoW's size and scope...

New D&D video game in the works. Its a MMO

The reference to the competing product would likely be the rumored Neverwinter Nights MMO being made by Cryptic Studios, which is owned by Atari. Source: Rumor: Cryptic Prepping Neverwinter Nights MMO

    2011 Campaign Setting... Azeroth?

While I think the system of 4th Edition would be a good fit for WoW as far as currently released RPG systems go, I also think the entire game of WoW just doesn't lend itself well to an RPG in the first place. Blizzard has shown it is perfectly willing to throw the story and mechanics out the...

Elven re-roll and the demigod capstone power

You normally have to use the first roll regardless. Elven Accuracy breaks that rule (as is the point of that power) giving you the opportunity to reroll ANY attack roll rather than being stuck with what you roll. The second attack roll for Elven Accuracy is still an attack roll, therefore it...

Elven re-roll and the demigod capstone power

Pretty much the best way to look at it, IMO. Has the most "teeth" of any arbitration that I've seen regarding this situation.

Elven re-roll and the demigod capstone power

Except the point of Elven Accuracy is to break the rule of being stuck with what you rolled. Normally you just use whatever you roll the first time. The rule simple states that when you roll an attack roll, you can choose, as a free action, to reroll it and take the second attack roll, which...

Elven re-roll and the demigod capstone power

Not for the encounter power regeneration, no, but that's not what he was talking about. Make a level 30 Elf Ranger demigod with Cascade of Blades Burn all your encounter powers except for your racial, Elven Accuracy Use Cascade of Blades, then use your racial encounter ability after the first...

    Nice Balrog!

In a high-level epic game, I managed to goad one of my friends into not only playing as a treant; but a monk/drunken master treant as well. Sadly I couldn't convince him to take the "Flying Kick" feat. :D It was an interesting game to say the least. :D

Female Dragonborn - No longer have breasts?

Not to say the current status of Halflings is better or worse than the old, but there's a difference between what makes sense scientifically and what makes sense in general when constructing a fantasy world. Scientific inaccuracies can only bother those who know the specific laws and theorem's...

Female Dragonborn - No longer have breasts?

The problem with this is that you're applying scientific reasoning as it pertains to fauna on Earth, to a fantasy world with little to no ties to scientific logic. The it doesn't matter if breast feeding is the single-most defining trait of mammals on Earth. The Dragonborn aren't from Earth...

What is this I am hearing about PHB2/DMG2/MM2 being required?

Wizard's uses "core" to describe the non-setting specific D&D books (i.e. not Forgotten Realms or Eberron) though, and have for a long time now, as someone mentioned earlier in the thread.

Richard Baker on Orcus and Deity Slaying

Two gods.. Though the first (Hakkar the Soulflayer In Zul'gurrub) is probably an extremely lesser god, and the second, C'thun, is one of the "Old Gods" who were defeated by the Titans. C'thun is actually still pretty badly weakened from his fight with the Titans, explaining why the players are...
