Yeah I feel that a lot of the given examples for a class are not the best. Especially for Magic Users seeing as how Vancian magic does not conform to how magic worked at all in Myths and Legends.

I am definitely in the former camp, which is why I liked most of the Age of Mortals novels, both pre and post War of Souls. I also feel that post War of Souls is great as a gaming setting because of so many different options present for characters.

@M.L. Martin Do you still have the text of the DL anti-canon? I remember really liking it but I do not have it saved anywhere. I used to be on the old DL Forums under the name of "Tinker".

Such spells fell under the domain of Mysticism, and since there were no characters classes you could have a character with up to three schools of sorcery and three spheres of mysticism. And even wear armor and use weapons if you have the stats for it.:)

Fifth Age is great!:) SAGA is best DL game system.
