    D&D 3E/3.5 Best of 3.5: Books Edition

I would not call any of them indispensable but the following immediately come to mind: Tome of Battle Player's Handbook II Expanded Psionics Handbook cheers

    Dragon 370 - Invoker Preview

I think it's unfortunate that Scorching Burst isn't all it could've been (and the same goes for some other at-will powers), but Vanguard's Lightning is fine, and not so much better that wizard players should lose much sleep over the issue. If it was up to me, I'd say full steam ahead into a...

    Dragon 370 - Invoker Preview

I'm liking the trend for at-will powers, though I would've hoped for a few more at-wills in martial power. cheers

    D&D III movie trailer

It suffers from the same problems as most other trailers these days, it is way too long and pretty much spoils everything. cheers

Forked Thread: Das Schwarze Auge [The Dark Eye], your experiences?

My experience is rather limited, and most of it with previous editions, but here goes: The main draws for me are the aesthetics, setting (though I know relatively little about it), and that it's natively German. While some things may sound corny, at least you aren't tempted to throw around...

How Many Beers per Gaming Session?

None, usually. I'm in the process of eliminating the leftovers from a party though, so about 3 per session currently. cheers

    What's your core?

My expanded core would look something like this: Player's Handbook Dungeon Master's Guide Monster Manual + Expanded Psionics Handbook Tome of Battle Player's Handbook II cheers

    Previews: November and Beyond

Good. Those would be specific to individual martial classes, right? cheers

    Previews: November and Beyond

I'm looking forward to Martial Power, but the feats don't particularly excite me. Can't they think of anything other than enhancing Dragon Breath for dragonborn racial feats? cheers

Word of Mearls: Official Player races will not get Oversized Weapons. Forked Thread

Definitely good news. Balance issues aside, it's as silly now as it was in 3.5. cheers

[Cleric] Bastion of Health vs. Cure Serious Wounds

Should a bullet-point in the sections Ranged Attack and Area Attack be the authority on whether powers that are not attacks provoke opportunity attacks, when the section on Opportunity Actions says ranged and area attacks provoke? Not necessarily, in my opinion. We're not going to convince each...

[Cleric] Bastion of Health vs. Cure Serious Wounds

For starters, the section you quoted is devoted to attacks. There was an argument for keyword inheritance a while back, which wasn't too dissimilar and has since been dismissed by errata. Further: Take the warlord, for example. Half his utility powers are ranged, yet everything else about...

[Cleric] Bastion of Health vs. Cure Serious Wounds

No, in our group we do not have utility powers provoke. While the text on page 290 of the PHB says something about ranged and area powers, on page 268 it talks about ranged attacks and area attacks. The latter is also how it reads in the Mount and Rider section of the DMG, or rather, the errata...

[Cleric] Bastion of Health vs. Cure Serious Wounds

Yes, Holy Lantern really isn't worth it as a light source. I wouldn't put much value in its relevance to skill challenges either. The reduced chance to be surprised or fail to spot a lurker isn't too bad though, if you already have all the healing you'll need. Like if there's a paladin and two...

    Dragonborn metal minis?

I kind of like the old Ral Partha draconians. I'm using the leftmost one for my warlord (without the wings, and with a different color scheme). cheers

[Cleric] Bastion of Health vs. Cure Serious Wounds

While it has nothing on being a Divine Oracle, a +2 bonus to Perception for the whole party is nothing to sneeze at. If you actually need the light, moving the thing around in combat is a bit of a hassle though (as it ceases to be if you move farther than 3 squares away from it). cheers

[Cleric] Bastion of Health vs. Cure Serious Wounds

In most cases I'd say CSW, but it really depends on the party. We typically have someone run out of healing surges before anyone else does, so CSW will allow us to face an extra encounter per day. cheers

    All Bets Are Off

Yes, in my opinion, you certainly get the bonuses. The matter has been brought up in a few threads, by the way (like here). As for the bloodclaw weapon, I'd say you could use it on the secondary attack, if you paid the hit point cost again. And, as written, you would deal triple the amount of...

    Making your own power cards

Uploaded an update to the set. It now includes the powers from Dragon 367, as well as the barbarian powers from Dragon 368 (an edited version of Jynxnet's barbarian set, so thanks Jynxnet). cheers

    Barbarian Playtest Experiences

The rules just say you must "move directly" (i.e. the minimum possible distance in squares), there isn't really a limitation to straight lines at any point. cheers
