Dungeons & Dragons and the ethics of imaginary violence

There are actually two discussions going on here, both raised by the same article. But actually I just realized that it doesn't matter. The linking of nonrelated data points is nothing to be concerned about. That happened 30 years ago and never happens today. Players playing evil characters is...

7TH SEA Sold To John Wick

I would be interested in hearing more about this. Could you pass on some of the changes you made? I've been itching to pull out my L5R books and start a new game.

Dungeons & Dragons and the ethics of imaginary violence

Considering the increased scrutiny of violent events these days. All it will take is the wrong person to find out the perpetrator played or owns D&D (or other RPGs) and here comes the next Pat Pulling. If it caused problems in the 80s, imagine how things could go off the rails in today's world...

Dungeons & Dragons and the ethics of imaginary violence

For me as a DM when alignment matters: Actions speak very much louder than letters on a character sheet.

Dungeons & Dragons and the ethics of imaginary violence

Didn't see this posted anywhere else so: http://www.hopesandfears.com/hopes/culture/video-games/216625-dungeons-dragons-violence-ethics Some of the discussion in the article highlights why I highly discourage players playing evil PCs.

This I would be interested in learning more about. Can you point me to that study?

D&D 5E 5e's new gender policy - is it attracting new players?

Not a geisha. But apparently sometimes a female and sometimes a male, so very appropriate to this thread and an example of how gender could be a factor during a game.

D&D 5E 5e's new gender policy - is it attracting new players?

I would be interested to hear Tia Nadiezja's thoughts on this statement.

D&D 5E 5e's new gender policy - is it attracting new players?

So not a single male geisha character from the CCG, the RPG or any of the other fluff... I thought maybe I had missed someone in my absence from the game.

    White Wolf Bought By Paradox

You guys win! Yaaayyyyy you! Still doesn't mean that WOD isn't the number 2 all time rpg. Unless of course all time really does mean only the 90s.

D&D 5E 5e's new gender policy - is it attracting new players?

    There aren't any male geisha

    White Wolf Bought By Paradox

The same could be said of D&D in its entirety.

    Cost of Arrows?

I think this is a more realistic view, especially in regards to ammunition used before gunpowder became predominant.

    Cost of Arrows?

I guess my military experience differs greatly from yours. The programs that I worked on actually wanted to balance cost and performance. Most expensive didn't cut it, most effective for the cost did. I guess the replacement of the M9 will prove this out in real life.

    Cost of Arrows?

Hi, Can you clarify this for me? Does it come from some particular military theory? I don't get how having a weapon that uses inexpensive ammunition is faulty or why any logistically sound army would want to use the most expensive ammunition they can.

Looking to build a gaming group in Colorado Springs

The title says it, I'm looking to build a gaming group here in Colorado Springs. Our little group has been playing Pathfinder on most alternating Saturday evenings. I'd like to expand the group a little, and maybe find someone who would like to share DMing. Pathfinder isn't a locked in system...
