I got to play Merric 10 days ago during a playtest of the 16th encounter of the season. He was a lot of fun to play, I should have tried to throw daggers more often rather than getting into melee with the big bad. It was fun to get the chance to play an essentials character for the first time.

Honestly waiting 10 days for Heroes of the Fallen Lands would be the best bet, that or change up the characters once you get it. I wouldn't wait till 3rd level to switch over, you'll be missing out on lots of feats, and the players are bound to get attached to 2 target MM & Thief at will...

Every other week for the last 4 months I've reminded the fighter in my home group how marking works for a fighter. He still doesn't remember how it works. I blame that on the player not the system though :D
