Penguin Random House Announces New D&D Romantasy Book

I think this is what I was trying to say.

Penguin Random House Announces New D&D Romantasy Book

Exactly. Fiction like this makes sense, but where are the supporting mechanics?

Leon Barillaro Joins Wizards of the Coast as D&D Designer

Is this three new hires? I've lost track.

    How do you define "Heartbreaker?"

If you want to joke that your self-published homebrew is a heartbreaker, thats probably OK, but otherwise it feels like a dated term. For a long time, Palladium Fantasy and Tunnels and Trolls may have been the only commercially viable altD&Ds. (and these were only so viable). Vs RQ, GURPs, or...

Daggerheart Sold Out in Two Weeks, Has Three-Year Plan in Place

Nothing was kept? It did not happen, there was nothing to keep. 4e books sales where terrible compared to 5e from the start. The source that they were so great, WotC, no one else. As for profitability? Almost certainly 5e, as it was done with a far smaller staff.

Daggerheart Sold Out in Two Weeks, Has Three-Year Plan in Place

Vague posts? That was official ENWorld news! 1 seller on Amazon. 1 seller at Publication weekly. Thats third party data! And we kept tracking Amazon, the core books staid high for months and months. You will find nothing like this for 4e. Not even close. Where are the revenue figures you keep...

D&D General Tim Kask, TSR's First Employee, Passes At Age 76

An extended interview with him here. A lot of insight on the early days of D&D and TSR.

Daggerheart Sold Out in Two Weeks, Has Three-Year Plan in Place

I have no idea why this came up in this thread, but yes 5e had a very strong start: https://www.enworld.org/threads/5es-initial-raw-sales-numbers-stronger-than-3es.662460/ But so did Daggerheart! Maybe that should be the focus of this thread.

Trailer The Odyssey | Official Trailer

Well, that is cinema. But otherwise the irony of all this always gets me. Those also have to be films with some of the highest discussed to not actually watched ratios. Or not watched all the way through. (with some viewers not actually able to watch them all the way through).

It's Time to VOTE for your MOST ANTICIPATED TTRPG of 2026!

Its seems like a lot of games. Maybe its like that every year? But this year it really seems like a lot of games. Between the earlier edition, the IP, or some pre-release hype I also have some idea of what at least two dozen of them are. Normally, in a given year, I might have heard of 3 or 4...

D&D 5E (2024) Ed Greenwood to Publish 4 New Forgotten Realms Sourcebooks in 2026

The first thing I thought when I saw this was “will there be festhalls”?

D&D 5E (2024) Is 5E better because of Crawford and Perkins leaving?

If you have a problem with 2024 D&D then them leaving might be a good thing, for you. Otherwise its still probably too early to say.

D&D 5E (2024) Lorwyn: First Light Released on D&D Beyond

We know that at least a few of them are not. "Dash" is confusing for a few reasons. It obviously should have been changed in development or during editing to "as a reaction you can move your speed". They can still fix it, lets see.

D&D 5E (2024) D&D Nexus at Demiplane with WotC core books.

So my roll20 D&D books don't seem to be on Demiplane. Not sure if they are supposed to be. In terms of browsing, the Demiplane text (using the SRD as the comparator) is maybe a little nicer then roll20, but its not a big difference. The roll20 stuff is also searchable, that does not seem to be...
