    D&D 5E (2014) Popular death/dying house rules in 2026?

No death from massive damage. Too biased against low level characters. As above, a failed death save leads to a level of exhaustion. But only the first failed death save. (Though if they drop again, they can add another). To give at least the possibility of a lingering impact, and encourage...

D&D 5E (2024) New Campaign: Should I make the switch to 5.5? (SOLVED)

I have now done that. Gets crazy otherwise. I think your list posted above is about right, and was just about to make a blanket agreement... But then remembered I also have problems with a few other spells, find many player species changes annoying, don't like a lot of the NPC changes, have...

D&D 5E (2024) New Campaign: Should I make the switch to 5.5? (SOLVED)

Its a meh. Maybe worth it, maybe not. Unless some of your players are really needing to play a berserker, sorcerer, or monk, then it would be nice of you to switch.

Dungeons & Dragons Announces Arcana Unleashed, New Magic-Themed Sourcebook at $49.99 Price Point

As others have responded 20 and 12 are different numbers, as it turns out. 14 or 15 seems more likely—for a starter set or PHB— with the big spending, and time playing, really starting in college. But what got me was the 3 million for 3.0. That would have seemed high at the time. Now it’s more...

Dungeons & Dragons Announces Arcana Unleashed, New Magic-Themed Sourcebook at $49.99 Price Point

Like what? You say this all the time. Yet never actually present any evidence. Anecdotally, the idea that young teens are buying bunches of hard back game books (and then actually reading them) is amazing. That they would actually play by those rules is truly incredible. And the massive...

Pumpkin Spice Joins the Million Dollar Crowdfunder Club

Its magic girl art. In the manga adjacent space that it sits, it feels pretty tame.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Is Now OFFICIALLY Called "5.5e"

Roll20 has been using 2024, including the "2024" Monster Manual. I also just noticed that they mostly drop the 5e. The new FR books are for "Dungeons and Dragons 2024". But there still some "5e"s and "5th"s around. I wonder if they will switch? It would help them clean things up.

    2026 D&D Seasons & Revised D&D Organized Play

Its some sort of preview/early release. But are you playing the thing before others play the thing? Or something else to get you to buy the thing?

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Is Now OFFICIALLY Called "5.5e"

Well now we know. Only took 2 years for them to confirm it.

The actual answer: core rules of whatever I am running and roll20. I’d like to say something more creative, but it wouldn’t be true.

Ryan Dancey & AEG Part Ways Following AI Comments

There was also the GAMA email hacking: https://www.enworld.org/threads/dancey-resigns-as-gama-treasurer.96161/ And I think there may have been a few other controversies. Yet, overall, I remain a fan.

I see the UA and 2e influences, but in short how is this thief better?

D&D 5E (2024) Is WOTC done publishing campaigns?

There is the evergreen model. Almost 10 year old Curse of Strahd still has "500+ bought this month" on Amazon. Tomb of Annihilation is 100+, and Tyranny of Dragons, which is currently on sale, is 700+! But I think that's also why we will see another one. They will want another product that...

    Crows Officially Announced by MCDM

From the post, it seems like they have done that "shoving". Its full of NSR/OSR references. (From you next post) its seems to totally fit into "The whole "avoid combat or you'll LOSE!" paradigm".

    Crows Officially Announced by MCDM

I was thinking its very NSR. Perhaps confirming that is very much a thing now. Its also entering a pretty crowded space. But if the OSR is any guide, maybe thats OK.

How Complex Do You Prefer Your TTRPG Systems In General

If it is the first few 4e books vs the core books of 2024 D&D, I think you could make the argument that 4e is simpler. Right now 2024 D&D definitely feels wonkier at the table.
