Microlite20 : the smallest thing in gaming

Darrell, Just to double-check... DCB and the map are OGL, correct? I'd like to edit and reuse the map for another home brew fantasy setting if I could. :) --Ray.

Microlite20 : the smallest thing in gaming

I made it with AKS Hexmapper (http://home.paonline.com/zaikoski/ak/TOOLS.HTM) and then added the coastlines and labels with a freeware graphics editor called Quick View (http://ccambien.free.fr/qv26.zip) I used The Gimp (http://www.gimp.org/) to resave the .bmp to a .png. There's a new beta...

Microlite20 : the smallest thing in gaming

The unfinished World of Ursia Hey all! I thought that since others had presented new and rules-lite campaign settings, I would add Ursia to the mix. It was a world that I was working on for 35e a couple of years ago but I never completed anything other than a map and some description. I...

Microlite20 : the smallest thing in gaming

Hey all! I added Lite20 to the Macropedia summary of lite systems. I've been away for awhile or I would have done it earlier. Hospitals suck! --Ray.

Microlite20 : the smallest thing in gaming

That's pretty much describes it. We're enjoying it very much! Just like ML20, Spell Points are equal to a character's max hit points. However the SP number does not go down when the character takes damage. It's on the character sheet but I need to add it to the rules too. Good catch! I...

Microlite20 : the smallest thing in gaming

That's what happens when you upload the wrong html file then delete the old page from the old server! The links worked last night because I hadn't yet deleted the old page. Fixed. Nice to see you too. :) --Ray.

Whoops! Fixed. Very much a work in progress! :) --Ray.

Microlite20 : the smallest thing in gaming

Yet another derivative of Microlite 20! Hey all! I've been working on making a lite d20-based game for some time now and with the help of ML20, I have created the game that I've wanted ever since I first saw the SRD. I combined ML20, Basic Fantasy Role-Playing Game and my own Warriors and...

OD&D Which Mystara/OD&D monsters should be in an article for Dragon mag? (Poll #1)

The Bhut in the FF isn't the same critter as the Mystaran Bhut. --Ray.

Converting original D&D and Mystara monsters

They're different. The basic DnD Bhut is different from the FF Bhut. Please do convert it. They can be found in module X4, The Master of the Desert Nomads and I think in the Creature Catalog (but don't hold me to the CC). --Ray.

    B5 Horror on the hill

Converting B5, Horror on the Hill.... This one shouldn't be hard for you to convert. You may even be able to do it on-the-fly. AIR, the module uses standard monsters that can be found in the MM1. You may need to look over the traps though. If you need to BS a saving throw, I usually set...

    Bah! Spyware. Whinging ahead!

You'll be an expert after this. After you get your pc cleaned up, install WinXP SP2. Run Windows Update for any additional patches. Either download a firewall or turn on the WinXP firewall that comes in SP2. If you're not running XP, goto http://www.pricelessware.org/ and download Kerio...

    DnD apps for Linux.....

Hey all! I'm a big fan of LInux but the one type of app that I haven't seen are DnD DM-ing aids for Linux. Has anyone else ran into any? I sure would like to dump Win98se for my DnD campaigne developement. --Ray.

Converting Illusionist from V2 to V3

Castles and Crusades.... I think the Castles and Crusades PHB has the Illusionist in it IIRC. You may want to ask over on Dragonsfoot.org's forums about it (www.dragonsfoot.org/forums). I only bought the CnC box set so I don't know if the CnC Illusionist is a good conversion or not. --Ray.

    Conversion of the X4-X5 modules

Marimmar, Thanks for this. It will make those parts of the module that much easier to run. :) --Ray.

    My house...er SRD based rules.

I've posted my player's guide on ENWorld in the past but never as a separate thread. They are based on the 3.5 SRD with the goal of making DnD rules that will work with the classic basic DnD modules. MC is on Mystara and we're running the Master of the Desert Nomads module. So far, these...

    Conversion of the X4-X5 modules

John, We started X4 in our last session and I too thought I would just convert it on-the-fly, but I have found that it's more difficult than I want to deal with. Do you have a conversion document (or any notes from your conversion) for X4 and X5? Any help would be appreciated. --Ray...

    Spelljamming the USS Constitution

I'm doing all this from memory so forgive me if I am wrong. AIR, the United States, Constellation and Constitution were sisters so there's three ships stats for the price of one. I think the President and the Philadelphia were too but I would have to double-check it. Enterprise, Wasp and...

Was a unified Leveling XP chart a bad idea?

Yes. There was a large amount of tweaking. I used the SRD and the 1981 Moldvay Basic and Expert rules as a guide. Separated race and class. Added sorcerer, skills and feats. A pinch of bat wing......<whomph!> A new set of 3e-ish rules with the original feel. Back to the XP charts....I...

BXCM House Rules, What did you use?

Rules Cyclopedia and Basic/Expert/Companion/Master. BXCM were the Frank Mentzer box sets from the middle/late 1980's for the "Basic DnD" game. I refer to this system as Classic DnD so as not to confuse it with 1e-3e DnD. --Ray.
