Need suggestions for a few ideas my players had.

In order to get any of the special abilities like wounding, thundering, etc requires that the weapon have an enchantment value of +1 at the very least. You can of course House Rule that if you wish, but that might seriously devalue some of the better weapons out there.

Need suggestions for a few ideas my players had.

Draconomicon has a spell called Lower Spell Resistance at 4th level; Fort Negates, lowers SR for the target creature by 1/caster level (Max 15), lasts 1 min/level, SR: No, and has a range of Close. As a single shot item that would not be too expensive to make for an arrow. Using the rules for...

    Discussions of new House Rules

I tend to agree with Primitive Screwhead. :) Frankly, GBK, your classes are about the most overpowered things I've ever read in 26 years of GMing. Also, you seem utterly uwilling to accept any criticism, or suggestions that would make them far more balanced and possibly remotely playable...

    3rd Domain as a Feat?

Still a dangerous precedent. What if another player wants to buy a domain as a feat and you say no because the other player is asking for a more powerful domain? You've set a precedent that it CAN be done. :) Domains are too good for a normal feat. :)

    3rd Domain as a Feat?

A bonus domain as a feat is unbalanced, even with the domain being healing. +1 caster level with healing spells can have significant effect, though I'll grant it is far less useful than say--the Death domain with the death touch ability. Though Healing in and of itself is not that powerful a...

Which spell school should (Healing) spells be in?

Conjuration if you must put it in an arcane school. Though necromancy does indeed manipulate life force it tends to do so using Negative energy, which only heals undead. In the spell descriptions of the cure spells it specifically mentions channeling Positive energy; and positive energy is...

    Nethermancer Class

No offense, but this class is insanely unbalanced. Two good saves, templated familiars, lots of bonus abilities, full spell casting capabilities...the list goes on and on. I'd gently suggest to any player that offered this write up to me for a new /core/ class that they consider a rebuild as a...

D&D 5E Help me create the next stage of Ogre!

Class levels would work great too. :) I had an Ogre Mage Sorcerer as a major villain and he was an utter badass. Gave him the feats Karmic Strike and Combat Reflexes too. He was rude, cast Stoneskin on himself, then waded into melee.

D&D 5E Help me create the next stage of Ogre!

Could always use the Irda from the Dragonlance Campaign Setting. They were fairly brutal. :) And Irda are called 'High Ogres', so it is even thematic with what you want to do. Another option would be to apply a template to the Ogre Mage as was suggested by JimAde - depending on your campaign...

    Demon Disciple?

Acolyte of the Skin does the whole 'turn into a fiend' thing over the course of 10 levels. It can be found in Complete Arcane, page 19. :)

    Transformational spells

I honestly haven't delved much into Epic Level stuff, but in theory I'd put a spell like that beyond the realm of normal magic, and that sounds like a decent working definition of an Epic Spell. I would still make the spell costly to cast, expensive and hard to acquire materials, the attendant...

    Transformational spells

I wouldn't allow the spell to grant more than one template, nor for the mother to be able to receive more than one template from such spells. Further, the granted template would override any that the mother might have herself. Example: I want to create a Half-Dragon, and I have a Half-Fiend...

An alternative elf based on Norse legends

How about a weakness to Cold Iron? Have it affect them like a poison, maybe have contact do 1 point of CON damage per round of contact, or individual contact. So a fighter with a cold iron sword swinging twice a round is a nasty foe. Alternatively have cold iron weaponry deal +2d6 Damage against...

    Birthday

Ah. Okay. Irritating, but I can understand not wanting to rewrite the code. Though...I don't see how stating the month and date, but not year protects the online privacy of children. The year of birth would be the key part, and that's not required. Anyway, thank you very much for...

    Birthday

I really don't care to have folks know what my birthday is. I would like to know if there is a way to disable this 'feature' in my profile. I know I don't have to list the year, but why on earth is it a required field?
