Riddles For riddles try http://riddles.cloudkingdom.com/Riddles/Archive.aspx. They usually have some good ones, that are easy to use.

World's Largest Dungeon in actual play [Spoilers!]

There is nothing wrong with this approach, as it puts the pressure on the PCs to find food and drink, and with usage of Purify F@D it is not a problem. I did this to start, and let them find that in region E, they did not feel the need to eat or drink. If they get on the good side of the...

    Party Infighting?

Why? If it is because of an out of game reason and has nothing to do with being in character, then ok, and if it continues then throw them out of the game. If it is from the game and in character then don't penalize it, as you as the DM made the the situation possible by allowing it to come up...

    Party Infighting?

Not true. I've played in games for thirty years, and found infighting in every game. The older the group the more mature the resolution, but in every game there is some amount of infighting. The fact is that it is going to happen, as it should. Characters are a creation of the player, and...

    The True Rule 0.

I don't understand the point of this thread, or the point of a rule 0. Roleplaying is a game. Games were made to have fun, that is why we play them. If you are not having fun, don't play. The only exception to this is professional sports, where players get paid very well to perform in the...

Are there any D&D modules created soley for the sake of comedy?

There was another one in Polyhedron that was a blast. The name of it was "Uglystick", and it was about a wand that reduced your Charisma. I can't remember what issue it was in, but it was quite a while ago.

    Druid Wild Shape forms

Yes I was going to say, it seems like everyone is thinking strictly of combat. The druid wildshape form has a great chance to go places others can't without magic. The eagle, dolphins, and small critters are great at doing recon.

    House Rules

Luck Here is one of the house rules that I play with in my campaigns. I did this to combat players getting screwed because of a bad night of dice rolling. Luck Luck is determined like any other score and it represents accidental fortune both good and bad. Luck is not pertinent to any class...

    House Rules

I would say that anything a DM does in his game, that is not covered in the core rules for the game could be considered a 'House Rule". If you go from you game to another game, then the tweeks to the game that another DM does are his house rules.

    House Rules

I use a fumble rule in my game too. Although, I made it similar to the critical hit rules for 3.5, by making the player who rolled a 1, confirm the fumble. Another miss and the outcome can be really bad. I use an old fumble chart from Dragon Mag in combat a wing the outcome on skill rolls and...

    House Rules

Yeah thanks, I saw that a second ago and was checking it out. Looks pretty good.

    House Rules

I am using luck in my game too, but I do not think it is from the same source. Do you have a write up on what you are using, as I don't have that book? I posted my house rule on luck in the WLD thread about half way down on page 21. It is strickly home brew, that we have worked on over a few...

If you could Add one more race to the PHB

Is that a Rod, Staff, or Wand?:)

    House Rules

I was reading in another thread about house rules, and the alternative of playing strickly as written in core rules. In my game we play with a few house rules, but was wondering what house rules other DMs play with, and why?

If you could Add one more race to the PHB

Some kind of shape shifter race. I am playing a cat like race in one campaign, and am having a lot of fun with it. The character is a shape shifting rogue/mage, that has a human form and a hybred form. It is a very cool race, and class idea.

World's Largest Dungeon in actual play [Spoilers!]

Don't give out XP the normal way. I am sticking with the ideas given in the begining of the book, and considering using the level up rooms given ealier in the thread. If I had decided to use the standard XP awards, my group would be about 5 level leaving region A, but this is only because...

    Generic Room Descriptions?

A room description is an encounter depending on what the PCs do with it. I have had some totally meaningless rooms turn into long events that use up party resources. In that sense every room that gives the PCs options of things to do, is an encounter. I love when players read things into the...

    The Screen

I too use a laptop for my game. All the rolling I do is on the laptop, except for the occational one off roll that I do just to keep them guessing. I also use a screen, but it is more for the charts and tables then to hide dice rolls.
