    multi-classing from day 1

Good stuff everyone. I probably haven't conveyed enough information to get what it was I was trying to say, lol. So far, I like the idea of starting wizard first, because that class would seem to be the hardest to multi in to once you've already chosen rogue. Learning how magic works, etc...

To avoid the necessity of finding a mentor. And yes.

So this means learning arcane arts and sneakcraft at the same time isn't possible for a first level character? You are right though, it would have to be a house rule :(

Hey Rich, Thanks a ton for this! I can dredge through the work, though, but thanks for the offer of helping.

    multi-classing from day 1

Well, I was thinking of taking wizard first, and having him learn some of the rogue goodies (sneak attack, stealth, etc.) along the way. but..........that...........really.................depends........on.......whhhaaat...mymastertellsme! *bows deeply to von*

    multi-classing from day 1

I see how that works, and have done this in the past. But soon we will be starting a new campaign, and I've decided to try a multi rogue/wizard. (For reference, we use MOSTLY the core III, which might help explain a few things about selections on my part.) How would a 1st level rogue go about...

    multi-classing from day 1

Hi all, I am a newbie to the fullest degree when it comes to experience with 3.5, even though I've been playing for awhile. In my group, we focus more on fun and less on rules, so if a rule gets in the way, we toss in on the spot, and our group has never had more than a VERY mild discussion on...

What's the spell you've always wanted to cast?

I would use Knock....to open my car door. ----My Wife

With which race do you identify?

I'm a half-orc at work, or so my coworkers say. I build houses :)

    Duskblade 0 level spells?

    Thank you people!

    Duskblade 0 level spells?

I'm sure this has been axed, but where are they?

[Rant] Am I the only one to be tired of extreme opinions related to RPGs?

good post Odhanan, you are now my favorite poster of all time. I don't post here often for this same reason. Others, flame on! (and flame me for what I just said)

Flying Creatures and Hit Point Loss

What are the rules as far as flying creatures and losing hit points? I recall a rule about certain flying creatures (with wings, I believe) being forced to land if they are down to just a quarter of their hit points. Was this in a previous edition and I'm just confused?

    Why dont you kill PCs?

My DM is great at DMing, and often tailors the campaign around the PCs (which is probably normal and perfectly fine, especially if you've got a sweet PC build.) Though sometimes I wouldn't mind seeing a PC kick the bucket, just to add a touch of realism.

    Wizard using a Cleric-type wand?

Noob question here. How would a wizard go about using a Wand of Cure Light Wounds? It seems that anyone can use a wand of a particular spell, so long as they have knowledge of that spell. So is it possible for a wizard to use a wand with clerical spells stored in it?

What's your favorite "basic" race to play (and why)?

I've played humans, elves (of various stock), and half-elves. But the most fun I've had with a particular race is with my current character, a Chaotic Good half-orc fighter/rogue.

    Wizard Specialization Help Needed

Everyone, thank you for your input I will weigh the possibilities of the absence of some of those schools of magic. I'm still kind of considering NOT forbidding Necromancy, based on the fact that we have no Cleric. (lol, is it metagaming to do this WHILE making your character at 1st level?)...

    Wizard Specialization Help Needed

HI all!! I've just joined a PBEM game and have partially created a 1st level Elven Evocation Specialist. In the party we have a Rogue, a Bard, and soon to be a Barbarian as well; no Cleric! (my character has yet to meet up with the others). I haven't played a Wizard (or even a spell caster)...
