Haha - maybe you're right.. Fun to dream though!

    D&D 5E D&D Spellbook Cards Preview

I've always liked the idea of spell cards with one exception - I wish they had individual art, unique to each spell, on the backs of each card.. It doesn't have to be anything elaborate, but a simple fireball on the back of the fireball card sure would bring some personality to them.. The...

D&D 5E Lost Mine of Phandelver - comments and complaints after read-through (spoilers)

I don't have the starter set, so my speculation could be less valuable than others', but here is a thought: Maybe having a TPK (or at least a good chance of one) at the end of the adventure was a design decision by WOTC.. After all, there doesn't appear to be anywhere to go after you finish the...

D&D 5E Blog Post by Robert J. Schwalb

I haven't posted in forever, but this guy's blog post reminds me of a topic I brought up years ago - I didn't understand why many folks were so obsessed with such specific character options.. Needless to say the responses were all over the board, and I'm sure those who thought it was a stupid...

    DMG Excerpt: Customizing Monsters

I know this is an "unofficial" monster creation, but I thought 4E was aiming at simplified stat blocks! That thing is huge! No offense to you of course, Delgar. ;)

Okay, thanks for the help. What's an iterative attack again?

    D&D 3E/3.5 4E/3E Combat Time Question...

This is a very noob question, and I'm sure something like it has been discussed before, but I need to know: As someone who never played 3E, why did its rounds take so long? I hear that overall battle time in 4E is about equal to 3E, but in 3E you had very long, but fewer rounds. Why? Is it...

    Ending at level 21...

That's a good point. I'm planning on buying all the WoTC published adventures [see current avatar ;) ] and probably lots of third party ones as well, so as long as I can get into the story lines of the Epic modules whatsoever, I'll probably give them a try. Once again, great discussion...

    Ending at level 21...

Good replies, all! I guess its just a "flavor" or "fluff" thing really. I agree its encouraging that it should stay balanced and playable at high levels, but I never really got into battling gods, flying at will, coming back from the dead at ease, or even planar travel (which I know is...

    Ending at level 21...

I just have a feeling I wouldn't enjoy the Epic tier. It doesn't sound like my kind of game at all. That said, up through level 20 sounds awesome. I imagine once I get through Paragon, I'd want the campaign to end. This isn't a revelation, though. Even in Massawyrm's early review...

Will DMs Need to Plan the PC Strategy?

I totally see what you're saying and for the most part, I agree with you. Assuming I'm understanding the statement correctly, here's one way to look at it: People generally don't use magic on mundane things, such as a plow that works by itself, for fear that others will be able to "reverse...

8 power sources. so what are the other 4?

Agreed. Didn't they say "down with needless symmetry" ?

D&D is dying by the hour

Exactly. All I want 3rd parties for are adventures and monster books.

will wizards of the coast do D&D classics in 4th ed

They mentioned at one time that we'll be seeing a lot of old classics in one way or another. I personally would LOVE to see the one's you mentioned and many more. And new ones too. The more modules - the better.

D&D 4E Would you buy 4E if it were not open/had no licenses for 3rd party companies?

I'm looking forward to 3rd party adventure modules and monster books. The only "player option" stuff I anticipate buying will be from WoTC.

    D&D 4E 4e and Computer Games

Yep. That was a fun game. The only thing I hated about it was that most of the dungeons and especially the castle at the end of the game had no rhyme or reason to the layout. Hallways that would lead to more hallways. Rooms that were just rooms. I don't need to see perfect ecology, but...

    DM Screen

It seems like a lot of people have been running some 4E playtests, usually with good overall results. Most seem to mention something along the lines of DMing being pretty easy. With that in mind, I thought about the DM Screen that will be available shortly after launch. I'm greatly looking...

    D&D 4E 4E at the Printers!

Do they really spend a month on editing? If that is the case, how is there EVER an excuse for errors? I don't get how errata is acceptable. Why do editors get paid if there are errors? How do they get through?
