    Adventure/Campaign Commission

Gotta type this quick (hear the wife's shower ending!) but does anyone know of something else like Wolfgang Bauer's Open Gaming thing where folks can commission experienced writers to create an adventure or campaign with the patron's input? Just seems like a neat idea waiting to be exploited.

    Ptolus: The Tenth Precinct

If it's OK for me to say something here, between Tock and Deevolly I'm going to come off as sex-obsessed! I play other kinds of characters, I promise, some without any Cha bonus!

Book of 9 Swords:Have you gone back to base classes?

My campaigns are about half below 7th and half above. I have no problem with wizards eventually having a more powerful single attack than a fighter, or a cleric, I guess, though you kind of have to specifically powergame for that to happen. I'm not sure what a COD or whatever is, but it sounds...

    D&D 3E/3.5 Plane-Shifter 3.5

Ah! Muchas gracias, man, that's good news.

    D&D 3E/3.5 Plane-Shifter 3.5

So a wizard 10/Planeshifter 10 has a lot of 5th level spells, but no sixth or beyond? Am I reading this right?

Book of 9 Swords:Have you gone back to base classes?

I'm not saying that 9Swords could never be used well. I'm saying that in my experience it attracts the powergaming side of even otherwise-balanced players. "Holy crap, I can add this and this and this!" And then there's no personality, the character basically just becomes a gun you point at...

Book of 9 Swords:Have you gone back to base classes?

That would be boring, too. But the normal martial classes in my campaigns never just do that, they have characters with individuality, style, etc. But once 9 Swords comes in, it's just powergaming and tourrettic repetitions. And sudden deaths of important NPCs due to overpowered 9Swordsers.

Book of 9 Swords:Have you gone back to base classes?

I honestly have learned to hate the Bo9S stuff and have outlawed any further use (original users are grandfathered in, much to my chagrin). If I wanted to listen to people rattle on the same two stances or whatever all night I'd watch DragonballZ or something.

    D&D 3E/3.5 Plane-Shifter 3.5

This could be a very dumb question but my wife just called and I don't have time to read up on it before submitting. Is there a conversion for the PlaneShifter PrC from Manual of the Planes to 3.5? Specifically, do the "Spells per day" become "spellcaster level"?

    Earth Town Meets D&D

I see no problem with gunpowder working or even being reproducible . . .but most folks, even after reading how, won't really be able to. Maybe something that would take years of study.

    Mind-Altering Chemicals and D&D 3.5

How adaptable would you say it is to an urban fantasy setting?

Wow, thanks. This is all very helpful.

    Mind-Altering Chemicals and D&D 3.5

Awesome, thanks! I'll check that out. I see that there are some downloadable supplements here . . .designed for modern. Anybody use them? Think they're convertable?

    Mind-Altering Chemicals and D&D 3.5

I'm running an urban campaign where one of the characters plays a . . .distributer of semi-legal agents. I was wanting to incorporate this into my game, but wasn't sure how. Has there been a supplement, third-party or not, that talked about mind-altering chemicals? Hallucinogens, barbituates...

    Ah, Bailiff Schulteiss. Good times.

Ptolus: Midwood - "The Dark Waters of Moss Pond"

This flashback was written by Katydid's and Renraw's players, and I think they really got to the early heart of each character. I hope we do another of these. There are some awful things in Tock's past that I'd like to drop more hints about.

You left out the part where Stotch gets raped by the bears.

Ptolus: Midwood - "The Dark Waters of Moss Pond"

Tock has pity for Emmerson, but Tucker and Bridger he sees as evil forces of control that have tried to destroy everything good in the world. He also holds a long grudge against Tucker for Tucker's treatment of Kat when they were children.
