D&D 5E Should 3PP upgrade their books to 2024 versions?

All I care about is that they keep the 2014 versions available- especially material with new races/species, classes. and subclasses.

How Fantastical Do You Like Your Fantasy World?

I'd say Beastmaster (movie), Conan, Dragonlance, and Ladyhawke all fall within the range that I, generally, like.

    D&D (2024) Specifying 5e

    Written, I use 5.0 v 5.24. Spoken, I use 5.0 (or 5e 2014) vs 2024.

What Show Should Have Only Had One Season?

I personally, thought the first few seasons were very good. Later seasons were not as good, but there were still some episodes along the way.

What does it take for an RPG to die?

    I came to say this.

D&D General D&D Editions: Anybody Else Feel Like They Don't Fit In?

The OGL is not limited to making and selling D&D third party products. Mutants and Masterminds, True20, Fantasy Craft, and Spycraft are examples of games created using the OGL and are not D&D products.

Jeremy Crawford Also Leaving D&D Team Later This Month

But my some of my favorite games don't use classes. Some only have human as a playable race. And most only have a single setting. I am fine with the first two. However, I cannot deny wanting to see all all of them get licensed settings or additional licensed setting ;) :P

Dungeon World Gets New Owners, Second Edition Planned

I am fine with getting rid of hit points and D&D stat names. At the same time, I am not, necessarily, sold on the new stat names either.

Jeremy Crawford Also Leaving D&D Team Later This Month

Maybe, I don't purchase adventures or anything drow related. I am basing my opinions on products like Defenders of the Faith, Complete Divine, Magic of Incarnum (imo, good mechanic idea, but lousy execution), and the Book of Exalted Deeds. I am also not impressed by the M:TG based D&D settings...

Jeremy Crawford Also Leaving D&D Team Later This Month

I am glad you are. I was actually glad when he moved to the Magic:TG side of things as he was away from the D&D side, but still had a job. There are only two D&D products that I like with his name on it- Oriental Adventures 3e and Heroes of Horror. And, if I am being honest, I think the latter...

Jeremy Crawford Also Leaving D&D Team Later This Month

Institutional knowledge can still be lost. We have seen it before. That said, while I wish Perkins and Crawford the best, I won't miss their style while simultaneously having reservations if Wyatt is going to be in charge.

Jeremy Crawford Also Leaving D&D Team Later This Month

Maybe, they want WOTC to produce material they like so they can be a customer again. Not hard to figure out.

Shadowdark Setting Looks Set To Be 2025's First Million Dollar TTRPG Crowdfunder

I pledged a dollar to give me more time to decide what level I want to pledge. I know I want the core rulebook, the two Western Reaches books, and all six Cursed Scrolls. I am just hemming and hawing on whether to get the Premium slipcase and the Premium Core rule book- Smyth-sewn is so tempting.

Best superhero movie of all time? (Nominations thread)

For me, it depends on the day, but the choice is between Across the Spider-verse Ant-Man Black Panther Big Hero 6 Captain America: Winter Soldier Into the Spiderverse Iron Man Honorable mentions: Captain America: First Avenger, Superman: The Movie (1978), The Incredibles

Shadowdark Western Reaches Stretch Goal: New Classes

I am interested in seeing the Witch and Warlock classes. The Knight of St. Ydris not as much. However, Cursed Scroll issues 2 and 3 also look very tempting. I need to decide in the next day or two if I can afford to lay out for the Kickstarter level with with the original book, the Western...

Shadowdark Western Reaches Stretch Goal: New Classes

I agree. As I am looking at various OSR games, I am looking for games that don't try to convert directly. I recently found a Bard class that wasn't trying to do another mash of Skald, Celt/Welsh bard, Troubador and/or Minstrelm but the creator suggested having different "Bards" instead. That is...

Shadowdark Western Reaches Stretch Goal: New Classes

I am watching the Necromancer video right now. I like it. I have been working on a priesthood for a deity of Death for an OSR D&D campaign and, while mine is less martial, it has a Death Sense and many of the same spells including sleep (the deity is also a deity of dreams and sleep. As such...

    D&D 5E Users of D&D 2014 - What are you using from 2024? +

As I wrote in the other thread, in addition to Bloodied (and based upon videos from both Treantmonk and the Dungeon Dudes), I will be pulling the following additions, revisions, and clarifications from 2024 Cleric Divine Order (but making my own modifications since I had already been working on...

    D&D (2024) What are your 2024 houserules?

I found them in the Expanded Conditions document by Dump Stat Adventures on their website. The page on their site that explains their thought process on the new conditions is a mess of ads so I just linked to the PDF document itself.

    D&D (2024) What are your 2024 houserules?

Yes, I am going to be bringing in additional conditions as well. I will be using Dazed from the playtest, Diseased, and the following conditions that I have found online from Dungeon Coach, Dungeon Dudes, Dump Stat Adventures, and Spilled Ale Studios: Bleeding, Burning, Clumsy...
