    Hmmm. I think: D&D 4E Daggerheart Starfinder 2E

Octopath Traveler 2 is a phenomenal game, much better than it's predecessor. I hope you enjoy the demo. Persona 3 reload also has a good demo, and Deltarune's first two chapters are free (though the game isn't actually done yet). All are worth checking out

To be clear, no, Expedition 33 is in no way a CRPG, and I've never heard anyone call it that before, it's weird to me that you are. JRPGs are a style, a moniker that represents a certain degree of presentation and gameplay style. Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Phantasy Star, Mother, Expedition...

I figured it wouldn't be. Unfortunate, but not surprising. After the last round of bonus content didn't have Pulses for all the arcanum in it I figured it would stay a secondary version of the class. Hopefully someday there'll be a book with the variant rules, I vastly prefer the variant...

I view the character building in FabUlt almost like Deck building, tbh. Its never an approach I've had to character building before, but the design, presentation, variety, and interactions of the classes and their abilities really got my brain stirring. Its fun choosing classes and finding new...

In JRPGs? I'd disagree. By even midgame of most JRPGs, inventory management is a nonfactor, you can just buy whatever you need and often have enough gold to max out those items. The big exception is strategy RPGs where inventory is character based and often limited as a result, or outliers like...

It uses conventions meant to emulate those styles of games. For example, one of the core resources in the game is Inventory Points, or IP. You don't go around spending gold on random potions and tools. Rather, you spend IP in battle to represent having the potion you need in your inventory...

Daggerheart Class Packs kickstarter is live.

Ah, was the size confirmed in the AMA? I'll need to watch that. If so, that's unfortunate but not the end of the world. I was really looking forward to oversized card and if they're normal sized I'm a bit less eager to go in on them despite wanting to preserve my limited edition cards.

You don't have to do them. It's just another way the game provides to emulate that feeling of experiencing a story in a JRPG video game. I'm personally used to it, it's been a tool myself and other GMs I know have been using since the 2000s, but it isn't for everyone - particularly if your group...

Daggerheart Class Packs kickstarter is live.

I don't think you need to be playing the game in person. I have online players who wish they had cards because they're much easier to reference for abilities, so they still have value to a lot of online players, particularly if they aren't using Demiplane.

    Fabula Ultima general thread [+]

Kinda, but I think that's somewhat the wrong mindset for it. It's more a brief window into what the villains are doing for a moment, like Golbez chastising Kain in FFIV, or getting flashbacks to Zio petrifying an entire city in Phantasy Star IV, or Rufus confronting the reality of the...

Fabula Ultima Hardback & Bestiary Vol. 1 Kickstarter

As someone who's been playing or running FabUlt (a much less unfortunate abbreviation lol) since it's English release and already owns all the books... yeah I'm still going in on that Collector's Box. Having standard size hardcover books is a huge deal for me, but the rest of the content is so...

Daggerheart Class Packs kickstarter is live.

I somewhat disagree. The value proposition for a single set for a player is actually kind of amazing. 72 cards you can use for an entire campaign for $25 is pretty good, particularly if they're oversized and at all the quality of the ones in the core set, or better yet, the variant art ancestry...

Daggerheart Class Packs kickstarter is live.

That's fair, I was mostly going off the fact that the ones in the video clearly are, which the box size would seem to reinforce, but prototype and early production materials etc etc.

Daggerheart Class Packs kickstarter is live.

If that's the size that the actual class pack cards end up being at, I may consider a whole set. Those nice oversized cards are going to read quicker at the table AND keep my nice, gold trim cards cleaner, heh. Since these aren't the same cards in the core set, seemingly, I'm not surprised...

Is Acquisitions Inc. switching to Daggerheart?

I would expect the opposite, given the immense amount of lead time book production typically needs, and that's before all the international shipping and trade complications that have been added in the last year or two. Still, I'd wager the cards don't help much, which makes me wonder what the...

Is Acquisitions Inc. switching to Daggerheart?

When I first went looking for Daggerheart back in July at my FLGS, they told me they were expecting a restock in October, so I suspect the stock that's hitting FLGSes now has been long allocated to them, which Darrington probably followed through for the ones that are part of their "Darrington...

Is Acquisitions Inc. switching to Daggerheart?

History and sales trends of other games and past editions of D&D almost universally show a decline over time - it's one of the big things that even motivates these refreshes and new editions. Overall perception and trends seem to (that's the big caveat here) show that it's almost certain that...

Is Acquisitions Inc. switching to Daggerheart?

I don't know that I'd say they're "hiding" it so much as going back to industry norms. That also doesn't preclude the fact that 2024 may be selling well. Particularly in today's reactionary environment, if it's selling less than 2014 did - which is a given given the perception that it's still 5E...

Pathfinder 1E Occult Adventures playtest available

Oh, of course there's more. Stuff like Planes information and archetypes are what I'm really excited about. I can't want to see what kind of interesting stuff the book turns out for other classes. I wasn't aware of the rules for possession - it makes sense, but that's certianly an interesting...
