Passing the young man, Skies continued whistling, not once looking back. It did not look like he was walking all that fast, just one step at a time, in a steady rhythm, but the distance the old man was covering rather defied belief.

Shrugging his shoulders, Skies sighed. Confidence was good, but too much... He let out a loud sigh. Perhaps he had his hopes up a bit too much. The youth was young, after all. Whistling a nameless tune, Skies went on his merry way, closing the distance between him and the youth.

Skies merely smiled. The youth was still too excitable from the fight. From the looks of it, he was even more wound up during the fight. And getting caught is one of the easier ways to get killed. Skies would wait to see how long it would take for the youth to reconsider his conclusions, or act...

Satisfied that the fallen thug would live, Skies rose to his feet. He studied the young man. The youth was strong, and well-built, handling his weapons as one with training. Yet, he did seem rather too ... pretty ... yes, that would be the word, to be a martial artist. Still, looks meant nothing...

Skies shrugged nonchalantly. So the kid was sharper than he had thought. No matter though, he still had a wounded man to attend to. Ignoring the question, Skies turned and walked toward the other fallen man, checking for his vitals as well.

The short answer is I didn't quite read the bit that they had ran. The long answer, though, is that its a distraction so Skies can go check on the other KO'ed thug now that he's noticed.

Skies turned to the young man, a gentle smile on his face, his hands held out in front of him, open and unthreatening. With a flick of his wrist, he gestured to the thug approaching the young man from behind. "Shouldn't you be more worried about him?"

Skies wanted a bit of excitement from this particular impromptu show. Sadly, the entire fiasco was turning out to be rather boring. Sliding off his rock, Skies strolled past the embroiled fighters to check on the comatose highwayman. He didn't want anybody seriously hurt, after all.

I'd stick with this build rather than use skirmish armour, if only cos nobody seems able to maintain it for ya.

carrying over from 1e ... without armour... or more exotic ones like in duels, in a dance etc. as long as it makes things interesting. Exalted is the game where you get rewarded for entertaining everyone else.

I always though mobility penalties like all other penalties (e.g. wound penalties) directly affected DV.

Mobility interferes with every kind of movement, including dodge, athletics etc.
