$20K (or a possible 120K) for your soul?

Missed one. Orcus: 95% of writing, NOT publishing. I know next to nothing about publishing because I haven't been published yet!

$20K (or a possible 120K) for your soul?

Re: Erik has the right idea here... Money is no object (except when someone offers a million or so bucks) when it comes to creating. Control is what I want. If I had no control on what I write when it gets published, I would never have even tried to be a writer. If I wanted only the money (see...

$20K (or a possible 120K) for your soul?

No more mentions about Lucas or Stephen King or Spielburg or the like. I'll say it again: If I am as successful as them, I will give every single one of you who replied copies of every single WoTC D&D 3e modules (past and future) there is. Got it? Good. I'm sticking with ONE idea and making that...

$20K (or a possible 120K) for your soul?

Re: Re: $20K (or a possible 120K) for your soul? The judges (in which some of them regularly visit this board). Actually, I'm a newbie here. And this was NOT intended to be a troll in any way, shape, or form. Just my own commentary, one which you could agree or disagree on.

$20K (or a possible 120K) for your soul?

That IS the reason why I was so skeptical about the contest. Being a) difficult to get published and b) getting paid better for something easy to get published would make anyone worried, even if it is from a respected company like WoTC. I always feel that they have something within their sleeve...

$20K (or a possible 120K) for your soul?

Mouseferatu: My only mission is to get in the publishing industry. And getting second with 20K doesn't do it. Agreed? Lady Dragon: (sarcasm) Yup, and I can get a million bucks for staying on an island with some ridiculous schmoes and winning some crazed immunity challenges! Eight times what...

$20K (or a possible 120K) for your soul?

Man, a lot of replies in a couple of hours. Doesn't that just beat all? As for my world, I seriously think I can write 7-8 good novels about my world (some of them independent of one another). If even half or so sell for about $5,000 (usually the industry standard, assuming no royalties), I...

$20K (or a possible 120K) for your soul?

The above was just a commentary on selling your ideas for mere cash. Yeah, I was a little TOO overdramatic, but I'm adding myself to RangerWickett's side. (This is mostly to Napftor.) For everyone who wrote/directed/etc., there is always one idea in which they felt dear. Lucas made Star Wars...

$20K (or a possible 120K) for your soul?

Let me start with the following: If you're one of those who cooked up a quick idea within one week for WoTC's campaign setting contest, you'll vehemently disagree with me. I've also hidden my identity to avoid possible bias, for I want to see how far I go in the contest. Besides, it's too late -...
