    Wouldn't know, don't read comics.

D&D Eberron: Race for the Crab Temple Coming to PAX East

This would be cool to me if they advanced the setting 20 years or something. Otherwise it's revisionism, which they have mostly avoided thus far.

But we know what sky coaches look like and they don't look like dirigibles

D&D Eberron: Race for the Crab Temple Coming to PAX East

I'm familiar with this concept, and I basically agree with you. That said, I'm surprised that the art director included this new, hypothetical, undisclosed, fairly common yet obscure technology which looks like an "airship" instead of using the iconic Eberron airship. Something seems off about...

D&D Eberron: Race for the Crab Temple Coming to PAX East

Yes, precisely so. I very much worry that the change in art is an indication of a change in content and storyline. Art noveau and deco have a place in Eberron, and I never contested that.

D&D Eberron: Race for the Crab Temple Coming to PAX East

To be clear, "timeframe" isn't something that bothers me. Eberron is simultaneously medieval, post-Civil War, post-WWI, post-WWII, pre-Y2K, AND post 9-11 all at once. A certain level of revision is fine. Adding tieflings and dragonborn to Eberron in 4e just makes sense. Heck, even adding guns...

D&D Eberron: Race for the Crab Temple Coming to PAX East

Point well taken, and indeed Deco has a place in Eberron. I just don't think that place is the center. And I sure hope it doesn't involve narrative revisionism.

D&D Eberron: Race for the Crab Temple Coming to PAX East

I definitely do not want to see Eberron become New Capenna, but I admit that there are times and places where the settings are similar.

D&D Eberron: Race for the Crab Temple Coming to PAX East

Undoubtedly. What I am saying is, I hope that it is not the center of Eberron going forward but merely a part. As you can imagine, I am a little sensitive after the previous Eberron 2024 art depicting airships in a more generic dirigible type fashion. To say that Eberron's airships are...

D&D Eberron: Race for the Crab Temple Coming to PAX East

Warforged and fingers is about narrative retconning. I can agree that art is not the whole of the identity; however, it is part and parcel to the identity. The art says a lot about what the designers and writers value about the setting. It directs the collective vision for design and for play...

D&D Eberron: Race for the Crab Temple Coming to PAX East

My main point is that the warforged has 5 fingers. And that's fine if that's true for 1 warforged. But that's really not okay if warforged are getting retconned. Its fine for it to be both, but if it isn't indeed both but is just Art Noveau, then that is to abandon the setting's identity.

D&D Eberron: Race for the Crab Temple Coming to PAX East

Art noveau and 5 fingers? That's not a warforged, that's a robot. Reminds me of the derigibles passed off as airships. Are they just abandoning Eberron's aesthetic in favor of art noveau more generally? Makes me sad/angry.

Kobold Press Announces 'Cozy' RPG Riverbank

I assume the gameplay will be less "dungeoncrawler" or "combat set-piece" and more "sugar high" and "pester the quaint questgiver" ?

D&D General The New York Times on D&D

People are widely uneducated about who Elon Musk is and why he is interested in acquiring D&D. This piece is valueable in my view because it brings the matter to non-TTRPG folks in terms they can understand. For a lot of white Americans, this will be the first, most accesable time they will hear...

Press The Arneson Estate views The Age of the Wolf as a fake Blackmoor Publication

If the Estate represented the situation accurately, this is highly disturbing. I think this entire community should be concerned if folks are making counterfeit Arneson products. Does anybody know who these Studio Ink Bat people are? Their website is sketchy as all hell. They clearly paid more...

Level Up (A5E) If Eberron was converted to A5e, would the Dragonmarks be heritage specific gifts?

As a writer, editor, teacher, and dyslexic, I would never ever judge!

Looks about right! (I think there is a typo in mark of detection tho!)

Level Up (A5E) If Eberron was converted to A5e, would the Dragonmarks be heritage specific gifts?

Indeed! While Crests of Destiny are based on the Major Arcana / Fire Emblem: Three Houses, mechanically they offer a onboarding for Dragonmarks quite easily. Just load up a Heritage Gift with traits from the dragonmark as appropraite. Probably gonna end up a little strong, so some mileage may vary.
