Wizards are uses/day, I was thinking more like a sorceror but they would have 'spells known' (devices) and then 'use until fail' rather than 'use Y times'. I'm just not sure that the Core magic classes have that concept (all based on casts/day...)

I think if you look at the stat block, there is a line marked SA and a line marked SQ. Wild Shape itself gives you the SA. With the spell, you also gain the (Ex) abilities in the SQ line. For animals, these are generally sensory (Scent, Blindsight, etc.) but can include defensive abilities...

Isn't the Thicket of Blades ability somewhat abusive with Reach Weapons (basically giving you an extra attack each round against an opponent without one, as opposed to an initial extra attack when they close, then trading blows...?) I'm not sure I'd actually allow the Thicket of Blades ability...
