AtG Howling Crag (5e PBP) OOC

Sorry I've been such a slacker on this game lately. I've been swamped with what feels like totally unnecessary BS on the regular lately, and it's disrupted my morale. I'll see what I can do to get moving again ASAP.

Yes, as a retailer, I'd love for them to do a boxed set for Q4. Exclusive covers would be nice on that. They don't need to do totally new covers, but it would be nice if there was something to distinguish them from the first batch.

D&D 5E According to the Hasbro Q1 earning call D&D sales are up substantially.

As far as I can tell, it didn't matter if you ordered more - we didn't get all of what we ordered. It was allocated. So, it's more a matter of wishing that they'd printed closer to what we ordered when it comes to the exclusives. This is possibly on the heads of our distributors and not WotC -...

Assault on Dragonspear (5e PBP) IC

The bartender looked busy when Tommi caught sight of her and, he thought, he could just as easily ask the Marshal if any scrolls could be bought locally. He and Lionel drained their cups and headed back out the front door. The two dwarves had gone, and one had left half a pint in the bottom of...

Assault on Dragonspear (5e PBP) IC

The barkeep smiled, showing her sharp teeth. She couldn't imagine what this slight young man or his chubby halfling friend could do against a marauding troll, but the offer had been made with such earnest that she believed that he'd try. "Well, if you're feeling brave you should volunteer with...

Assault on Dragonspear (5e PBP) IC

The bartender sighed, and answered, "Normally, yes. But right now there's a big push to fortify, and even the riding horses are being used to haul logs from the misty forest to build a new palisade. Trolls have been sacking caravans on the Trade Way south, and word is that they're working their...

Assault on Dragonspear (5e PBP) IC

The Way Inn was a fortress of stone, built on a hill overlooking the Trade Way. Big as it was, a dozen tables were outside, in front of the large main doors, on a flat space made of gravel. Druids had enchanted some larger stones that lined the edge of the gravel yard, which caused the light...

Assault on Dragonspear (5e PBP) IC

Isteval found a rock to sit on and rest his leg. He was happy to go and buy his own horse, but it was nice to allow his leg to rest. He waved Tommi over and handed him a bag with 20 pieces of platinum inside. "There is no horse-seller here, that I know of, but it is common for traders to swap...

Assault on Dragonspear (5e PBP) IC

They arrived at The Way Inn at about four hours after noon. By then, Sir Isteval's leg was clearly bothering him despite his best efforts to hide it. They knew that they'd arrived when the Trade Way's road passed by what remained of an old tower, which had been one of five that had surrounded a...

D&D General Former WotC Employee Greg Bilsland Returning to D&D?

Huh. You're right. I'm the one who is confused. I thought that he had (not in point-form, but within a paragraph) alluded to answers, but I must have had a few things jumbled up. Must. Refill. Coffee.

Assault on Dragonspear (5e PBP) IC

Isteval nodded to Morgan and handed him a map rolled in a brass scroll-case. "I did bring one, just in case, but the trip is not difficult, nor usually dangerous. The Trade Way is well-used (though it seems quiet today) and Dragonspear can be seen from it on a clear day. We should have no way...

2 hours to The Way Inn. I can jump us there if you like. Sure. I'll post it IC. Understandable concern.

D&D General Former WotC Employee Greg Bilsland Returning to D&D?

Yeah, I think Darjr's right about 1 & 3, but the monkey wrench is 2, and you're spot-on about how that goes down. Shareholders these days seem like they'd rather see the whole thing crash an burn on an attempt to rocket skyward than to see it slowly and safely raise.

D&D General Former WotC Employee Greg Bilsland Returning to D&D?

I think you'll find that I didn't say anything that concrete, but okay. Yeah, again. That's where we differ. You think that a 5-year plan should be discounted as meaningless (and therefore should be defined as "not being followed" if it's flexible. I think that is simply what a 5-year plan...

D&D General Former WotC Employee Greg Bilsland Returning to D&D?

This is the actual point that you and I are disagreeing on, and that's fine. We can disagree. I just don't think that a 5 year plan is nonsense just because it has room to change and develop and adjust and morph. As long as it still follows some sense of the "broad strokes", it's still an...

D&D General Former WotC Employee Greg Bilsland Returning to D&D?

I guess it depends on what you think of as "following a 5-year plan". No plan is 100% set-in-stone. That would be foolish. But you were arguing that a plan that looked like "Book A. Book B. Book C." was too much of a plan. (Or at least it seemed so). I would assume that the plan would have a...

D&D General Former WotC Employee Greg Bilsland Returning to D&D?

I'm not sure why you doubt it, when they specifically said that they do. Sure, I agree that there will have to be some room for shuffling, or space to cram in a surprise or two, but they've always worked on books approximately two years out. I'd fully expect 2026's books to be pretty far along...

Jeremy Crawford Also Leaving D&D Team Later This Month

Yes. My earlier suggestion was to make more of those. For example, I think Phandelver & Below would have been FAR more successful (both critically and financially) if they'd used - some - of the material from the Essentials Set and some new stuff to flesh out the map with more side-quests and...

Jeremy Crawford Also Leaving D&D Team Later This Month

Isn't it interesting how Pathfinder 1 would have made a better D&D 4e and 4e might have made a better Pathfinder (as in a cool alternative to D&D).
