    Villains & Vigilantes is BACK!

Don't forget Kali and her power-chuks. Some of my greatest RPG memories are from our extensive V&V campaign. FORCE turned half our team to the dark side with his boosted Charisma. Thanks for the memories Jeff.

    Web hosts - recommendations?

I've used westhost.com for years and have been very happy with their service. They're very affordable with a lot of bandwidth and storage space even with the low cost options. I tend to have very little downtime. phpBB and MySQL are only two of a large number of added features they provide with...

[DM Issue] - How would you have handled this?

This isn't a case of the GM twisting the player's words. There is a big difference between "attacked" and "hit by". It isn't the GM's job to figure out that the player means one rather than the other. How is holding a player to his stated action a case of hosing him? How many ways can you...

[DM Issue] - How would you have handled this?

I don't know guys. Taking the player's quote with the situation, it isn't so cut-and-dry as to what his intention really was. If I'm surrounded by three hostile opponents, I would assume that they are all going to attack me. So why hold an attack until after they do exactly what I know they are...

    eTools Patch and Source Code

The announcement that Ryan's contract had been terminated was posted here at ENWorld on March 15, 2002. Requests for Master Tools/E-Tools beta testers went out on December 11 or 12, 2001.

    eTools Patch and Source Code

Assuming it is an issue with your software does not mean you immediately send it to the coders. Far from it. Part of investigating an issue is trying to reproduce it under controlled circumstances. Just taking the step of saying "okay, what steps are you following to cause the crash" is...

    eTools Patch and Source Code

I think the point was that getting the user to say that they did X is very difficult. They may not be aware that they did X at all. Until you know that the user did X, you have to assume that it is a problem with your software.

    eTools Patch and Source Code

Nope. Fluid stated quite clearly a while ago that the object code belonged to Wizards, but the sourc code belonged to Fluid. This was mentioned at the same time that they promised to release the source to the online community if Fluid was no longer able to support the product.

    eTools Patch and Source Code

It's not always this easy. My pastor asked me once why the font he was using looked all screwed up on his monitor. The first question I asked was "have you installed anything on this machine since it last worked?" He said that he had not. Half an hour later, he asked if it could be related to...

    Character Generator Software Concept

Something else that I'd like to see that oftentimes gets overlooked... I would like to have the ability to modify the data that's already in the software. I'd also like to be able to DELETE the data that's already in there without jumping through hoops to do so. If I don't want a fireball spell...
