Listen and Spot at a Distance

I'm also interested in seeing a table. I like the idea of -1 for every 10 ft because of it's simplicity. I'm more of a creature of simplicity when it comes to gaming rather than common sense, blasphemy I know.

Listen and Spot at a Distance

I'm seeking some advice on using Spot and Listen in my campaign. In the players handbook it says to apply a -1 modifier on a spot check for each 10 feet of distance between two groups. However if never states a DC to spot an enemy not trying to hide. I'm thinking DC 5, maybe 10. Feelings...

D&D 3E/3.5 Virtual Feats on Magical Items 3.5

My initial thought was something like 6-10k a feat. I'm giving each of my players a bonus for writing a short bio before we start this campaign tonight. I was aiming to give each player an item worth about 5 or 6k. For this player in particular I think I'm going to just give him an unslotted...

D&D 3E/3.5 Virtual Feats on Magical Items 3.5

I want to give my players some virtual feats through magical items and I can't find pricing anywhere I'm looking (books/online). Can anyone help me? How much would you value an item that granted say... Power Attack? Thanks!

    Enviromental Hazard Ideas Please

I don't want to give much more away than I already said. All my players know my handle and I'm worried they could be trolling. But basically long ago these rings were built for 'some' reason and constructs were put there as the protectors of the place.

And to think Dandu... you were so helpful on my last post :)

    Enviromental Hazard Ideas Please

Thanks Orc, I'll be using many of those ideas. It should make what was looking to be a boring bunch of golem encounters into something a little more memorable.

    Fate Points

I don't know if this helps, but I'm running a 3.5 campaign with a 7th ability score introduced called luck. Basically a number of times per day equal to your luck mod you can reroll one die before you know the result. This can be used for stabilization during death. Maybe you could operate fate...

    Enviromental Hazard Ideas Please

I'm starting a pirate themed aquatic campaign on Monday. One of the adventures I have planned for the party is a set of three mechanical rings (isles) spanning hundreds of miles around. Inhabiting these isles are golems and inevitables. I'm looking for suggestions as to what types of...

    I'm DMing a Vow'd Monk/Forsaker, Help me!!!

Hahaha! Yes! After I read your Orb ridiculousness I told some of the players about it and they whined about it being broken. However, in this campaign I'm running 9 players 8 of which are homebrews. IMO nothing is broken against homebrew characters.

    I'm DMing a Vow'd Monk/Forsaker, Help me!!!

I will say I knew munchkining was happening when I allowed it. And I made some concessions to allow it. However the player has since changed his mind. He is now going to be a White Dragon...... players... thanks all for the constructive suggestions. Definitely don't feel like you guys didn't...

    I'm DMing a Vow'd Monk/Forsaker, Help me!!!

Currently as Mettle is ruled, if a fort save is passed, the entire spell is negated. However I think the spirit of the ability is meant more to reduce spells that save for half damage to no damage. Thanks Again Dandu. If you come up with anymore shenanigans, I'd love to hear them. He will...

    I'm DMing a Vow'd Monk/Forsaker, Help me!!!

Another question I have is what is the highest DC a 20th level NPC wizard could have?

    I'm DMing a Vow'd Monk/Forsaker, Help me!!!

Although that is an option, most of the characters in this campaign are homebrewed so the power level is high. Rather than simply saying no, I'd rather have tools to deal with him.

    I'm DMing a Vow'd Monk/Forsaker, Help me!!!

In a campaign I'm starting in a week I have a player playing a Monk/Forsaker with a Vow of Poverty. I'm having trouble finding any weaknesses in his character. We're going off the Forsaker (3.5e Prestige Class) - Dungeons and Dragons Wiki homebrew. At level 20, he'll have an approximate AC of...

    Help With A Pirates Campaign

I'm thinking about adding a 7th attribute in this campaign... Luck. Just thinking it could be cool in a pirate campaign. Possible uses: affect rolls for random treasure certain encounters may or may not appear based on secret rolls using luck slightly modify combat affect the likelihood of...

    Help With A Pirates Campaign

Going with the nature reclaimed temple for the lower level adventure. Remapped an area for the higher level adventure, going to be a set of shifting mechanical isles inhabited by constructs and some other surprises. One piece of work I always have trouble with while writing campaigns is name...

    Help With A Pirates Campaign

Wow! I didn't expect such a big response. Thanks everyone! Update, my world map is nearly complete. The only deficit right now is of inland adventures. I need two more ideas for encounters the party can face off the ship. One preferably around level 7 the other around level 13. Otherwise I may...

    Help With A Pirates Campaign

Thanks! Kazgorr - I've got something planned for the kraken and storm already. I love the idea of the jungle islands because there's nothing better than separating the party. And I hadn't thought about reoccurring NPC's, I'll definitely be incorporating that! Orc - I'm adding in the...
