No prestige classes? I'm digging it.

I agree, there's not a lot of incentive for going prestige, even for someone like me, who finds the concept of dipping into other classes to unlock something incredibly awesome and flavorful. However, it feels like that once you go prestige, your character progression becomes predictable and...

    D&D 3E/3.5 Can Elementals Be Blinded? - 3.5

I'm looking at elementals in the 3.5 Monster Manual and I don't see anything that suggests elementals use anything beside normal vision. Does this mean they can be blinded like any normal melee fighter? If so, I am disappoint.

    Building a good wizard?

You may want to look into taking the feat or rod for Elemental Spell. If you plan to be an evoker full-time, I highly recommend having handy the option to change the elemental damage of a spell. From my experience as both a DM and player, if a particular player is consistently dealing fire...

    When Does Ability Damage Stack?

Is that from Pathfinder Core or APG? Sounds awesome. Oh, sorry. I'm mostly looking for spells that make monsters ineffective. So ability damage, level damage, conditions. Anything that will make it easier for the melee characters to dodge and hit the thing :p

    When Does Ability Damage Stack?

So what would you say would be the most effective spells to use to inflict the most ability damage? I already plan to use Enervation, but I'm wondering if there are other spells that are as effective.

    When Does Ability Damage Stack?

    I see. Thank you!

    When Does Ability Damage Stack?

How do you know when ability damage stacks? For instance, does Touch of Gracelessness stack with itself? Does Calcific Touch stack with itself? Do they stack with each other? I want to be a debuff wizard, so I'm open to any recommendations you have as to which spells to use. I am allowed to use...

    Supplemnt Buy Path?

Can I just come in here and say that I'm incredibly jealous you got such a good deal on the APG? I spent $30 last night ordering a copy off Amazon. I did order the APG however, to try out the new classes, having played some of the base classes from Core. I'm looking forward to making NPCs from...

    Making a dangerous, villainous bard

I don't know :):):):) about bards, but it'd be pretty interesting to have a dancing villain who casts Charm Person on the main fighter to turn them against the party.

    Lively Combat!

I think you should leave it up to the player to decide what maneuver to make on a tied Defense roll. It will let the player add flavor to their character and eliminate the 'if odd, do this, if even roll, do this' business, which would require remembering more rules. I really like this system...

Is my rogue not useful in this configuration?

He probably isn't. I'd give the other players' character sheets a look. If they're not putting points into Diplomacy, I'd go ahead and switch out the skill points and allocate them into skill checks your DM prefers.

D&D 3E/3.5 3.5 Magic Items To Gift My Players Tomorrow!

Vespucci You're evil, haha. The Rogue uses a dagger. Just one. I'm giving him a pair of short swords (the ones that give +4 to SA) and going to give him permission to switch out a feat for TWF. As to the arrows I'm giving him, I'm going to assume they're reusable. He enjoys switching between...

    D&D 3E/3.5 DM'ing Pathfinder - What's Different from 3.5E?

What helped me learn to DM Pathfinder was by playing Pathfinder as a player, and making characters and playing them out in sample battles. If you know 3.5, you pretty much known Pathfinder. IMO, there's not a big difference. I DM for a 3.5 group and play in two Pathfinder groups and never have...

Question - On Tripping and Cleave

I don't think you should start throwing in monsters that can't be tripped. That will ruin his fun. Instead, keep throwing humanoid minions at him, but accompany them with one or two big baddies that either cannot be tripped or are a lot harder to trip. Honestly, I think that's all you're...

Is my rogue not useful in this configuration?

Sounds like your DM isn't paying attention to his players or giving you any opportunities to shine. I dealt with this when I first started playing D&D and didn't have an optimized fighter in an all caster group. I got my ass handed to me by high AC, high BAB monsters that didn't have any SR or...

Pathfinder 1E RPG Novices and Pathfinder

Different players enjoy different mechanics of the game. Find out what she likes most. When my boyfriend and I first started playing D&D last year, we had the most fun wrecking havoc on the townspeople/working against any stable plot. Skill checks were annoying because we had to keep looking...

    Gamemastery Plot Twist cards. Huh?

They don't sound very useful to me. IMO, you could make up all those plot twists as you go along. The cards just seem like a way to remind the DM to be creative and stay on their toes to keep entertainment value high. I bought the crit/fumble decks and found that it's a lot more fun making up...

    Question on Poisons

Agreed. I was going to make poison use regular with my level 12 rogue, but even with the large amounts of money we get from loot, spending ~700 for a single dose of a good poison (ie, high DC) just isn't worth it, considering I can get a magic item that gives me an ability x/day that is just as...

D&D 3E/3.5 3.5 Magic Items To Gift My Players Tomorrow!

The group I DM is coming upon our 1-year anniversary. Therefore, for our next game I'd like to give the characters useful and fun items! They do not have to be from the Magic Item Compendium. Here are the characters - I'd love to hear what YOU would love to get from your DM if you were playing...
