I suppose this is kind of a silly question, but I've been trying to get into RPGs and there are a few gaming stores within walking distance that host games X times a week. I've never gone to one before and I have no idea how they work.

Are they supposed to be the heroes? Because it sounds like they're becoming villains, or at least anti-heroes. You could try sending some NPC strictly moral heroes to fight them, bringing up the fact that they're becoming terrible people. That could either make them realize what they're doing...

I second that. I agree, when I opened this thread I was not expecting this story. I wonder if it hurt.
