Fighting the Gray Tide (Miniature Painting)

Absolutely love that rusty blade! One piece of advice I might give you is to re-apply some skin colour over what has obviously been a generous application of flesh-wash to neaten it up a little bit.

Fighting the Gray Tide (Miniature Painting)

First miniature of the year. An "Observer" for Trench Crusade. Basically a martial artist/monk. About 98% done, just need some finetuning on the base and adding a freehand design on the cloak.

So Much Art From the 2025 Monster Manual

My personal gripe with the current art is that it's all so.... washed-out. (Well, not ALL of it, but most.) It lacks dynamic range. The darkest shades are still just medium-dark greys, and the lightest tints are often still far away from pure white. And if you convert these images correctly to...

Fighting the Gray Tide (Miniature Painting)

Tank Hunter Communicant (with a munitions shrine) and a group shot of my warband so far. It will certainly still grow over the next couple of days.

Fighting the Gray Tide (Miniature Painting)

I'm mostly using Vallejo paints, both ranges, Model and Game. The Model range has all those lovely earth, khaki, tan, and myriads of grey and green tones, and Game has nocely satured reds, yellows and blues. And for metal, I use their dedicated "Metal Color" range. I haven't tried Warpaint...

What TTRPG Is Perfect and Complete In One Volume?

A man of culture, I see.... [emoji4] My contribution to this thread: Mythras. Haven't actually played it yet, but I'd say it fits the bill nicely.

Fighting the Gray Tide (Miniature Painting)

I've been heavily getting into the upcoming game "Trench Crusade" lately. Basically, it's 1914 (WW1 era) and humans are fighting a war against demons that started in 1099 when the Templar Knights opened a gate to Hell in Jerusalem and has been going on for over 800 years. It's a blend of...

D&D General What is your most prized Dungeons and Dragons Product?

Among my most prized items are the Rules Cyclopedia (it seems I'm not the only one who considers it an absolute treasure) PLUS Creature Catalogue, as well as the 1E DMG (8th printing, I think). As far as more "recent" stuff goes, I'm quite fond of my collection of FR books, first and foremost...

Fighting the Gray Tide (Miniature Painting)

I managed to paint a couple miniatures as well, over the last week or two. It's quite the mix, but I print and paint whatever seems like fun to me, completely disregarding the already-printed miniatures for a dedicated faction that I have lying around. [emoji28]

I've printed some HeroQuest proxies and I'm quite liking how rhis one turns out. Plenty of work left to do but I think the muscles tirned out well.

Well kudos to you and to your wife. And by the way, the magnifyer/headlamp glasses are absolutely useful. I never paint without them. Lighting is key!
