In our circumstance, it came down to the players failing at both of their shots and the TIEs inflicting 12 damage with their first attack. I spent all the darkside points because they were dead at that point anyway (they'd 2 HP left, and had only killed 1 TIE fighter minion), and the players...

We basically decided to go by the book since it was the beginner game, and I was hoping to see how it might work if someone entirely new to RPGs was just following the rules to the letter. If I was running a campaign, I'd have handled it quite differently!

I'm a big fan of Greg Laidlaw - I think he would've been a good shout, as he's one of the most consistent performers out there. I get that there is competition, but I think he'd of been worth a call up.

Definitely, I'd say. WFRP 3rd Ed isn't as popular as previous editions were, whilst Fantasy Flight have released/supported five separate 40k RPG lines. If you look here: http://www.rpg.net/columns/designers-and-dragons/designers-and-dragons25.phtml - 40k RP is third behind Pathfinder and D&D.

I GM because I like playing multiple characters. Besides that, I find the games I particularly like aren't likely to be GM'd by anyone else in my party.

You have Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, but you don't have 40k Roleplay. I think the latter is far more popular, now?

50/50 - I'm usually a GM, but my tabletop group has a few.

I probably won't be either. Realistically, I'm an X-Box guy. I'll put up with their :):):):):), because I like the UI, the controller and the games. Still, Sony has done really well.

Red Lanterns, although the writing quality has been terrible at times. I just love the concept.

I wish he stayed dead. This has spoiled some of The Avengers for me.
