Wizards of the Coast launches official Dungeons & Dragons Actual Play show

The last thing I want is my DM asking me if I've done my kegel exercises

D&D General I’m Trying to Love D&D Again—and I’ve Got Some Complaints. Young Grognard posting.

Posting a humorous example of a similarly close minded mentality filtered through the lens of "correct" d&d play that instead makes both subjects look like fools.

Hyenas have more in common with cats than dogs iirc.

D&D General I’m Trying to Love D&D Again—and I’ve Got Some Complaints. Young Grognard posting.

The D&D game I joined right after college, literally everyone involved in it changed their stated sexuality and/or gender by the time it ended. Fun fact; the fact I was locked out of the polycule forming at that table was part of how I figured out I, myself, was ace.

D&D General I’m Trying to Love D&D Again—and I’ve Got Some Complaints. Young Grognard posting.

I'm not going to bother reading the entirety of the thread; but I just want to bring up the idea that LGBTQ+ representation being "modern politics" is naughty word silly. Not only have there been people that we would consider to be gay, trans, bi, lesbian, queer or asexual in the past (we stan ace...

D&D General Greyhawk book is NOT 'Shield Lands' but 'Borderlands of Iuz' according to team member

Real-world medievalists don't like the term "dark age", saying it's a fiction invented by renaissance historians. So lean into it. Greyhawk is dark age fiction; it's not "medieval fantasy", it's "dark age fantasy." I've personally been doing some research on the Bronze Age Collapse and Greek...

D&D General What articles would a good & free, fanmade D&D magazine have?

There needs to be some kind of serialized narrative with cliffhangers that'll keep fans speculating between issues. Maybe a comic book like Snarf Quest, personally I think that someone should try combining the popularity of Actual Plays like Critical Role with the Japanese tradition of the...

D&D General Forgotten Realms cover to "Guide to the Dalelands" revealed, book delayed

Ok so the impression I'm getting is Dalelands is Vanilla and Sword Coast is French Vanilla.

D&D General Forgotten Realms cover to "Guide to the Dalelands" revealed, book delayed

I thought the Sword Coast was "Standard D&D Fantasy" which is why I have a hard time understanding what the Dalelands offers that it doesn't.

Dungeons & Dragons releases Villainous Options playtest

Here's another villainous option I could see them rolling out: use the feat path system to let players become Athasian Dragons if they are truly working on a Dark Sun book

D&D General Forgotten Realms cover to "Guide to the Dalelands" revealed, book delayed

I say this literally; what is the appeal of the Dalelands? It seems to be the blandest part of the otherwise really interesting forgotten realms, yet I go to other D&D forums and people are like "FINALLY a RETURN to the DALELANDS! I've been waiting since highschool for this!" and I just like...

D&D General What's the least spookiest Wizard Subclass?

Bladesinger. Wizards don't actually exist; they and the capacities of magic are unknown. A sword? I own swords. I can understand swords.

Dungeons & Dragons releases Villainous Options playtest

I thought the lich was super powerful until I remembered that far fewer creatures in 5.5e are humanoids now; kill a goblin or a lizardfolk and there's no soul to eat. I think by default you should be able to eat the souls of giants and maybe monstrosities, and maybe take feats that let you succ...
