    D&D 5E (2024) So What Is Winter's Mysterious D&D "Season of Champions"?

While I've suggested Dark Sun elsewhere, here's an alternative take; They're going to highlight "competitive" D&D in some fashion, either with a new rules supplement for PVP or a return to convention style "meat grinder" play that brought us the original Tomb of Horrors. 5e has existed long...

D&D’s 2026 Announcements: Roadmap Contains A Mix of New and Familiar

In the Lovecraft mythos yes, but I think Cthulhu is called out in the PHB and "D&D canon" as an elder evil and an option for the GOO pact. Kind of like how there are canonical interpretations of Jesus Christ in both Christianity and Islam, but those versions differ significantly in their divinity.

D&D’s 2026 Announcements: Roadmap Contains A Mix of New and Familiar

My guess: Much like the Dhampir is in both the Astarion DLC and Ravenloft book, the Psion will be in the Dark Sun handbook but also available as its own standalone DLC sorta like the 5.5e artificer, that way you "only" have to pay $10-20 to bring your psion to a non-Dark Sun game, and maybe...

Dungeons & Dragons Announces Arcana Unleashed, New Magic-Themed Sourcebook at $49.99 Price Point

Wouldn't that be more analogous to hair color than skin color? And not for nothing, all seven sisters have the exact same hair color.

Dungeons & Dragons Announces Arcana Unleashed, New Magic-Themed Sourcebook at $49.99 Price Point

Am I wrong or do I feel every time they post a picture of Alustriel Silverhand they make her skin darker? Which is weird because she has the same mother and father as her sisters, who are all significantly paler than her (aside from the shenanigans with the Drow sister). Mod edit: language

D&D’s 2026 Announcements: Roadmap Contains A Mix of New and Familiar

"Yo dawg, we noticed you liked bread and circuses during a period of ecological collapse due to despotic governments, so we made a game about ecological collapse due to despotic governments so you can experience horror while you experience horror"

Critical Role's The Legend of Vox Machina Season 4 Comes Out in June

Legitimate question. Crit Role changed the names of the gods because they're WotC IP- Sarenrae>Everlight, Whispered One>Vecna, etc. Stranger Things... didn't have to pay WotC a fee to name their villain Vecna, and if anything, Vecna is now a big part of WotC's brand identity because of that...

Dungeons & Dragons Announces Arcana Unleashed: Deadfall, New Adventure Book Featuring Red Wizards of Thay

NGL, publishing a sourcebook then an adventure themed to the sourcebook as an example of how a DM could use the tools contained in it seems like a pretty solid marketing move.

D&D’s 2026 Announcements: Roadmap Contains A Mix of New and Familiar

Dark Sun is heavily associated with gladiator combat and to a lesser extent "Peplum"/"sword and sandal" fiction, and championship and gladiators are connected concepts. Perhaps the Dark Sun book will place a particular focus on gladiatorial combat instead of psionics or ecology.

Ravenloft: The Horrors Within Announced, Release Date Scheduled for June 2026

I've been sitting on a reboot of Birthright for a while and I've got a few ideas for Council of Wyrms or Jakandor and I'm not even a professional TTRPG designer. It wouldn't be that hard. Maybe by 2031 we can see a new Ghostwalk edition.

D&D General Hasbro CEO Says AI Integration Has Been "A Clear Success"

Each one of those computers is servicing multiple users at a time, let alone over the course of the day. Asking a LLM to make some fairy rhymes probably costs less in electricity than playing a video game for fifteen minutes.

D&D General D&D Fan Expo: London Main Show Is Coming This August

There are lots of emerging markets like Saudi Arabia or China which theoretically have a large untapped base of middle class consumers with disposable income begging for a TTRPG, and then you realize their governments may have laws against depictions of gods or undead or sorcery that would make...

D&D General D&D Fan Expo: London Main Show Is Coming This August

If they're targeting an international audience, there's a lot of reasons why people would not want to travel to America right now.

D&D General Alright, Forgotten Realms junkies! a Q or two.

Can't you just use a lizardfolk statblock for a saurial and just remove their ability to speak draconic?

D&D General D&D Fan Expo: London Main Show Is Coming This August

Why didn't I even consider half the reason this is being held in London is so they can get a good chunk of the BG3 cast.
