    D&D General other possible elements?

The element of surprise is the most dangerous of all! A devoted surprise mage school would be really fun to play though.

D&D General Tell Us About Your Gnolls! [+]

There is debate on what animal Anubis has the head of, though it looks too slender to be a hyena. It is possible hyenas looked different thousands of years go though.

    D&D (2024) Worldbuilding Differences between 5e and 5.5?

You speak as if you have authority which you do not have. All that is just your own beliefs (or parroting the beliefs of someone else who made it up). Norse myths never describe what the elves (alfs?) actually look like, so they could have originally been any height. The wolf ears is a wild...

I always think of jackals, not hyenas when I think of Egypt.

    D&D (2024) Worldbuilding Differences between 5e and 5.5?

Elves have a wide range of heights across all fantasy media. There is no one true answer for how tall an elf is. I find the idea of Tolkien style tall elves and short Santa elves existing in the same world to be a funny thought. Could build a game around a conflict between the two.

I don't have animal people as player options in my games, as it comes too close to furries for me. Not to yuck anyone else's yum, just not for me. The closest I've come to it would be a satyr I allowed once, and there was talk of a merfolk another time. So animal bodies I guess are OK, just...

    D&D (2024) Worldbuilding Differences between 5e and 5.5?

The lore parts of D&D rule books and supplements are just suggestions. No group is required to use the lore given if they think something different would be more fun.

D&D General What if High Level Was Only in a Supplement

5E's 20 levels seems fine to me. I do wish back in 4E they had moved the epic levels (21+) to a separate book or set of books.

D&D 5E If WotC Did A New Setting Search

Does anyone have a master list for all the previous setting search submissions? I know Eberron of course, and I think Midnight may have been another, but would love to know about the other ones. Were any perhaps "ahead of their time" and may fit better nowadays?

D&D 5E WOTC Possibly Removing "Druids" for Religious/Cultural Sensitivity Reasons

I guess just ignore me then. I don't think we can be friends.

Sorry for your loss. Too bad he didn't get to see them, even if he chose not to use them.

D&D 5E WOTC Possibly Removing "Druids" for Religious/Cultural Sensitivity Reasons

The simple solution is to change the name of all classes to new made-up words that are used just for the game, and have no relation to any real world culture or religion. Foomp Gluub Tak-boo Dwomp Vunda-tuz Rodaq Quandul Gorboad Setvillo Claaosh Krugnor Dunflax Zorbo Anyone want to guess which...

D&D General Nolzur creates inclusive miniatures, people can't handle it.

When a topic is discussed that involves a group of people, I tend to value the words of someone in that group over someone outside it. Not that the other people should be ignored or silenced, just that the insider view is more valuable.

Wow, thank you for sharing. Glad to see some true insight instead of all the speculation.

Oh, I never had any thoughts on someone in a wheel chair being forced to play a character that's also in a wheel chair. I am skeptical on the number of players, disabled or not, that would want to play such a character. It's fine as an option though. Anyone know the sales numbers for those...

Do you happen to know which post was from the player with the wheelchair so I can read their view on this? (alternatively the name of the poster and I search for it myself) On another note, are their players on here that can walk that are excited to play a character that has a fantasy wheel...

I didn't read every single post in this thread, just the first couple pages then skimmed from there. Has any player that has a wheel chair chimed in yet? I can walk, but personally if I lost my ability to stand and walk I would want to continue playing characters that can walk. I prefer...

D&D (2024) Do you think they will add more races to PHB2024 to make up for dropping other stuff?

I wish more players of mixed heritage had chimed in, as I value their input on the "soft erasure" of the half-elf and half-orc more, since it sounds like the changes were done for those players' benefit. I think we had two, one on either side of the argument? (Correct me if I missed some)

D&D 5E I want more flavorful wizard subclasses.

What if the subclasses were literally flavourful? Imagine a world where wizards are chefs, and their spells are recipes. There could be wizards specializing in spicy or sweet magic, but maybe others mix sweet with sour, or salty with spicy for example.
