D&D 5E [Merged] Candlekeep Mysteries Author Speaks Out On WotC's Cuts To Adventure

I was just using that as an example. I feel the description could have been more, well, descriptive and let me learn about this particular grippli culture. So yeah maybe crabs were used in all their decorations, tell me more about that.

D&D 5E [Merged] Candlekeep Mysteries Author Speaks Out On WotC's Cuts To Adventure

Decorations could have just been described as "consisting of bones, teeth, and feathers" instead of using primitive as a catch all.

Or "hastily constructed" may have been better.

D&D 5E [Merged] Candlekeep Mysteries Author Speaks Out On WotC's Cuts To Adventure

To be fair, the use of the term primitive in this adventure isn't referring to a culture but hastily constructed structures. "The primitive shelters are the new homes of grippli who escaped when the evil yuan-ti came through the village in their search for the earlier group of serpentfolk."...

D&D 5E Why does no one play Goliath?

We have several goliaths in our AL Rime of the Frostmaiden game. I'm playing a Goliath Rune Knight, the other is playing a Goliath Glory paladin, and the other group has a Goliath Druid (not sure which kind). I will say, being able to reduce damage via the racial, combined with second wind...

    Pathfinder 1E Over-Optimized

I find it less problematic when you have less than the ideal number of players needed, as they are making up for the loss of the action economy that a full roster would bring. It's most problematic when you are running with more players than needed, because it exacerbates the action economy...

    Pathfinder 1E Over-Optimized

Optimization can be harmful in a published adventure that a DM is running without modifications. It can also be harmful in games where the DM has 6-7 players at the table and the game was designed for 4. Action economy alone is a huge power swing towards the players. So unless the DM is also...

D&D Movie/TV Hugh Grant To Play Villain in the D&D Movie

It's not who the actors/actresses are, as much as how well the script/story is written and the tone it goes for is accurately arrived at by the selected actors/actresses. At least several of them have actually played D&D so they are familiar with the tropes. They just need a great script/story...

D&D 5E WotC to increase releases per year?

I would also love to see other non-sword coast areas opened up and explored.

D&D 5E WotC to increase releases per year?

We are way overdue for more monsters. Especially monsters that can stand up to the power creep that players have gotten over the years. I'd also like to see more monsters have interesting mechanics built in to them. Like mini legendary features.

    Dragonlance Dragonlance or Mystara?

Mystara. So much to explore, so many cultures, things above ground and below ground (even the moon and hollow world have things to do and adventures to experience.) Every survey when they ask what setting I would be interested in seeing I always add Mystara as my choice.

D&D 5E Rime of the Frostmaiden magic items

Unless I'm mistaken, the faction rewards once you hit tier 2 are for AL modules. When you play an AL hardcover you play it as is. But I could be mistaken.

D&D 5E Rime of the Frostmaiden magic items

Mithral chain mail only. No shields. There is an amulet of health, cloak of protection, and luckstone they could use. For archers there is a quiver of ehlonna but no magic bows. It's very sparse for martials.

D&D 5E Rime of the Frostmaiden magic items

Has anyone else noticed how the adventure heavily favors casters with it's magic items? Martial characters get very little if you run the game as is. 2 magic weapons in the entire book. A +2 trident, or a cursed greataxe....wow. Now in home games this is easily fixed, but if you run the game...

D&D 5E A First Look at Tasha’s Lineage System In AL Player’s Guide - Customizing Your Origin In D&D

In home games probably not as much. In AL official games I expect to see more shenanigans as people find more combinations that increase character power. I just would have liked a chance to play test major changes first to see how little or how much it will affect the games balance. Especially...

D&D 5E A First Look at Tasha’s Lineage System In AL Player’s Guide - Customizing Your Origin In D&D

Pre changes I didn't see half elf monks or rangers at all. They didn't need +2 CHA. Only paladins or other classes that used CHA. Not to say it didn't exist. You saw lots of humans and wood elves though. What I think will change now is instead of picking a class and then finding a race with...

They were ideal for paladin or charisma classes. But now it includes monks and rangers as well. Or any MAD multiclassing build.
