Boxed Sets: What Do You Want In Them

I see, but I didn't find the word "setting manual" in the survey, then I selected "other". Then I would like to include a map, etc. But the main content should be two or three settings related short manuals (for the players, for the DM and a geography/hystoryrelated manual, for example).

D&D General How much does Shattered Obelisk need Phandelver?

Yes, in my opinion. You need a community under attack by the goblins and that is due to be transformed into the final goal of the three fanatics.

D&D General How much does Shattered Obelisk need Phandelver?

Basically the first part is required to introduce some NPC and to create a sort of bond. The PC should have a reason to risk anything in order to resque some citizen and save the town from disaster. That's it. If you can create a different backstory and a reason why the PC should follow the...

Must You Tell Your Players What Adventure You Are Running?

I am used to inform my players during session zero and I am used to give a brief description of the style of the adventure (i.e. Ravenloft = gothic horror, Descent into Avernus = Mad Max in Hell, etc.). I prefer to have informed players and this helps also during character creation.

D&D 5E Curse of Strahd Level 5 party help

Level 5 is a good level to start CoS. Some initial locations can be tough for low level PCs. Start from the east end of the map as suggested by the adventure itself. Death house should be powered a bit to make it challenging, but the remaining encounters are fine. Basically you just have to...

D&D General Why grognards still matter

I started with BECMI but I am 52. Am I a Master or a Companion grognard? Consider that D&D took some time to cross the ocean and arrive in Italy in the eighties. I agree with the topic. Now at 52 with a stable job I have the money to buy all the manuals that I want (not the magic crossover for...
