Not exactly walk free. I think Fisk is going to end up on the run or disappear and Daniel is going to take the fall because they will need someone to put their hands on to take the blame.

Exactly. The mayor usually (always?) gives out that honor, so many people clocked (even in this thread) that this meant that her prediction about being around after everyone was gone was correct- Iago indeed.

Spoilers Daredevil: Born Again season two discussion

This is one of the problems I have with modern interpretations of the word. Any death of a loved one will and should cause development in those that are left behind. The word that is left out is 'only'. This was not the 'only' reason for her fall. And she had more than a hand in it. Even if she...

Do you have a "litmus test" setting for generic rule sets?

To me, there's a vast difference between a house system and a generic system. A house system is borne out of a setting first approach, with the system adaptations or hacks being separate. In many cases, that's exactly what they're called - hacks. They take a system meant for one thing, and apply...

Do you have a "litmus test" setting for generic rule sets?

Perhaps it's not so much generic systems that you don't enjoy. You just don't enjoy the direction of most generic systems that bill themselves as such? Cortex leans narrative, but isn't really. I notice you don't list Fate or any of its iterations which I think would be the most narrative...

Do you have a "litmus test" setting for generic rule sets?

I'd disagree. The reason GURPS isn't as popular is that this style of TTRPG has gone out of style in general - not just GURPS.

Do you have a "litmus test" setting for generic rule sets?

Personally, I think that "generic systems really aren't" is pretty reductionist. There is no true "generic" anything just as there are no true "generalizations"- there's always designer bias that sneaks in (or is intentional) that makes it better for some things than others, and slant in a...

Do you have a "litmus test" setting for generic rule sets?

No, for that very reason. As I don't want a variety of systems, I use a system du jour that is flexible enough for me to mold as I want to adapt all the settings. So the litmus test isn't based on a particular setting, but whether it aligns with my sensibilities. This aim hearkens back to my...

Do you have a "litmus test" setting for generic rule sets?

Personally, I think even generic rulesets need to have a focus. GURPS, though it does heroic, is more focused on realism and that's very evident in its system. HERO is the opposite. Fate Core is focused on cinematic. Though you can do anything in these systems, there is a focus. Therefore, I...

When the top sci-fi RPG meets the top fantasy RPG

With those prices no wonder it's already funded so high. And all the extra non-RPG stuff. And October 2027? This is the kind of thing that should have been closer to the finish line. Even if I was inclined, I wouldn't be inclined.
