I think one of the problem with big IPs, Fandoms and anticipation/secrets is that people make their own prejudgement of what is going to/should happen instead of waiting for the story to unfold thus baking in disappointment and failure

Hard agree. I just prefer to exercise self control and walk away. Besides if you block someone, you might miss something interesting they say in the future. One moment doesn't really define anyone, IMO
