I had thought the 4e version had spells. It had been a while since I looked at the 3/3.5e prestige class, but I thought they still had some spells themselves. I guess it was because the ranger version does have spells.

I found the Arcane Archer's lack of spellcasting odd, considering how previous incarnations have had their own spells. I guess they wouldn't want another archetype that also casts arcane spells. I'm otherwise happy with the archetypes, and I enjoy the others in the article also. I didn't...

The game has to be fun for you too. Also, get feedback from your players. Maybe not necessarily every session, but often enough that you know whether or not they are enjoying the game, and what they want to see in your game and get out of it.
