Tam pipes in: "Rest!" --- and he immediately sits before the jeweled statue he recently tried to pilfer, stretches his legs out, crossing them at the ankles, cradles his hands behind his head, and leans back against the feet of the statue with a thankful sigh, shutting his eyes.

THE HEROES OF DYVERS CHAPTER 7: CLARE'S ERRAND

Tam does notice that the hands and arms of the statue on the throne look as if they were presenting something to the larger sphinx statue before it. Was it a box? A coffer? Things to ponder.

    TUW: The Outpost

Raven Elk focuses all his attention on the cathedral guard, but in a non-chalant manner. He gets Taylar's attention, nodding to him in a long practiced, non-verbal cue that states: Pay attention to this one.

    TUW: The Outpost

Raven Elk, meanwhile, stays silent and in Way, except when sleeping. He does this partly to sense any possible deception from their new "fellow " travelers and partly to exercise all the 'triune senses' of sight, hearing and smell within the use of the waylines.

    TUW: The Outpost

Leaving Adi to do the talking when the priest finishes with the elder lady, Raven Elk cases the environs, wary of the possibility of a possible confrontation or outright ambush should Adisakti's queries raise an alarm from the priest and, subsequently, a fight. Raven Elk hoped it wouldn't come...

Raven Elk responds to Astarte's request to learn key phrases in Maldrog: "I can help you that as we travel. Adi and Taylar are the main fighters and scouts among us, I being more of a guard, support or flank fighter. So, while they lead, we can focus on your Maldrog."

    TUW: The Outpost

Raven Elk is ready to be on the move. Ironically, all the travel and adventures that he and his friends have been through planted deeper roots than he believed.
