Having never played Pathfinder, I was unaware. Hey, I learned something new today!

Matt Mercer did something like this for a dagger-tossing PC in his first campaign. He homebrewed a magic belt that could hold up to four thrown weapons. After being thrown, the weapons bamf back to the belt.

Glad to see that Brennan has found a fun little part time gig to keep him occupied now that he’s retired.

One of the other players in my game has a magic lance (possibly a Lance of Dragon Slaying) made from the horn of an Ancient Black Dragon we killed.

Most of them travel to the Material Plane via Oakland… which, as it turns out, is only about a half-hour from Hell (and vice-versa).

I’d like to see the Monster Manual Expanded series.

For a one-shot, or a campaign that’s expected to only run a few sessions? Sure, why not? Might be fun. I might even learn a thing or two. For a full campaign, I’d want to play a character or concept that interests me enough to keep me invested for the long haul.

Clearly… we need to buff the casters so they won’t be so terribly overshadowed by martials any more.

But I saw multiple YouTubers assuring me that D&D was dead…

It’s a three-step process: 1. Buy a copy of Doctors & Daleks 2. Murder a timelord 3. Build the quiver from parts you scavenge from their TARDIS.

I switched to playing online during COVID. That came in handy two years ago, when I moved to a new state, since my groups moved with me (as it were). But I wouldn’t say no to joining an in-person group if the opportunity arose. I might even go looking for one when my current campaign ends.

Goals.

For the proper old-school experience, they would need to have at least one main character die every episode, and be replaced by a new character. Bonus points any time the replacement is the same actor, in the same costume (with a different hat) saying “I’m here to avenge my brother!”

I would make the required reading time 1 hour, which can be included in a short or long rest. I would also limit it to 1d4 books per day. Giving advantage on 2d6 skills for a day seems like a lot. And maybe add that a character can only benefit from one book per day. Maybe a small chance for...

A well-designed starter set could also be a useful way to help players learn the differences between ToV and WOTC’s 5E.
