WotC's Nathan Stewart Reveals Ravnica's Druid Circle of Spores

I don't think you can, Spreading Spores specifically says you can't use your Halo of Spores reaction while it is active. I didn't even notice that Spreading Spores is all creatures, not just enemies. Yeah, that is pretty rough since it can often instantly kill your zombie you just raised.

WotC's Nathan Stewart Reveals Ravnica's Druid Circle of Spores

Of course they don't, but they should think about whether the player is going to have fun or not. I simply see a lot of unfun turns that go like this: DM: The enemy moves up next to you Player: I use Halo of Spores DM: It saves (because it's a CON save) Player: Oh... OK. Well it's my turn...

WotC's Nathan Stewart Reveals Ravnica's Druid Circle of Spores

I mentioned this on reddit, but I'll repeat it here. This feels like a subclass that is going to feel very bad to play at an actual table. Con saves are not a good thing to target, especially when the effect does nothing on a save. This is not a feature that is going to succeed very often...

D&D 5E Looking for some resurrection rules

I want to make death a more meaningful aspect in my game. I was thinking of making resurrection a skill challenge, with higher level spells providing easier DCs. Does anyone have homebrew rules that they like that addresses this topic?

D&D 5E So Was That Z Fellow right?

This thread is about someone asking if they were right about some things in the game being OP or broken. They weren't. The thread isn't titled "Only post here if you will admit these specific feats are OP." The feats do what they are supposed to; increase your damage. They provide nothing out...

    D&D 5E Xanathar's Elven Accuracy

It's refreshing to see this. Too often online I read posts from DMs who think that they are dictators instead of just one player in the group. People who will kill off other's characters just because someone broke an unwritten rule of theirs, or did something that didn't fit in "their game"...

D&D 5E So Was That Z Fellow right?

Fair enough. The feats are definitely quite a bit better than the alternatives in DPR. I wonder if there would be as much debate if the OP feats were not about dealing damage but about buff/debuff/control. From my own experience, people don't care nearly as much if the support character is...

D&D 5E So Was That Z Fellow right?

Maybe I'm jaded with what you could do in previous editions and that's why I don't think any of the feats are broken in 5th. Everyone points to Pun-Pun as the golden example of breaking something, but you didn't need to go nearly that far in optimization to make any unoptimized character...

D&D 5E So Was That Z Fellow right?

    1. He's pointing out that white room DPR doesn't mean anything when the caster ends combat on turn 1. 2. Whatever you want? If you take Actor and Prodigy you are going to be doing 12 less DPR, but maybe you don't care and want to have fun with your character?

D&D 5E So Was That Z Fellow right?

I'm not sure why you feel the need to be so abrasive. I said nothing about "the game cannot be broken". It seems you are simply here to act like you are better than everyone else instead of providing meaningfully to the discussion. Being dismissive of other people is not going to win you any awards.

D&D 5E So Was That Z Fellow right?

SS/GWM certainly increase DPR by more than the other option available, but whenever I see people discuss them being OP they do so in unrealistic ways usually. You aren't going to only fight enemies with 14 AC, you won't always have advantage and a +2 magic weapon in every fight. In real games...

D&D 5E legal staff and shield for hexblade?

I think you are right, after looking at the spellcasting rules again.

Xanathar's Guide Shows Up In The Wild!

Did Elven Accuracy make it into the racial feats? Is it changed from the UA? Also, is Shadow Sorcerer changed at level 1? The Darkness for 1 sorcerer point and being able to see through it, and the Strength of the Grave feature. Thanks!

D&D 5E legal staff and shield for hexblade?

You will have to take the War Caster feat in order to deal with the somatic components of spells. There is also some debate whether an arcane staff is the same as a quarterstaff, but if you take War Caster you can just wield a quarterstaff and have your focus/competent pouch as well.

D&D 5E Paladin divine smithe, non magical weapons and damage immunities

By RAW it is number 2. The radiant damage is dealt in addition to other damage of the melee attack. "Hitting" with an attack has nothing to do with the attack having to deal damage, it simply means the character managed to pierce the defenses.
