Peregrine's Nest: What Does a Line Developer Do?

Thanks for the encouragement. :) I appreciate it! @timbannock Thanks for the advice! I tentatively agree that we need more business-y folks in TTRPGs (tentatively because, well … I keep seeing what happens at WOTC). I've accidentally picked up more of the project management/development toolkit...

RPG Print News – Chaosium, Mongoose, Goodman Games, and More

That's my understanding as well. New visuals, but that the "expanded" and "long out-of-print" stuff is mostly the same marketing text from the first edition. I feel Chaosium did a decent job clarifying that on their own BRP Central forum. I just wish the preview pages on their site + DTRPG were...

Peregrine's Nest: What Does a Line Developer Do?

Thanks for the peek into the blurry spot between business and game design—this was an interesting read. I've done a bit of freelance work in addition to independent work, and I'm interested in doing more. Do you have any advice for trying to become someone in a Line Developer's or an editor's...

The Tabletop Adventure Sues Geek Therapeutics For 'Libel, Slander, and Copyright Infringement'

Thanks for pointing that out - that's very interesting. Looking around a bit more on their site, it's not entirely clear to me if all of Geek Therapeutics' courses are accredited, or just some. The "Problematic Gaming Specialist" course has stated accreditations from the APA, ASWB, and the...

RPG Crowdfunding News – The MCDM RPG, cyan starlight, Meta Domain, and more

Hey Egg, as we reach the end of the year I wanted to let you know this is a column I really enjoy each week. It's fun to skim through all the interesting ideas the tabletop community produces. I appreciate how this work helps me discover projects I would otherwise never have noticed (like Keith).

Go Down The Hobbit Hole Of The One Ring Starter Set

Got my box last week, and that's been my experience, as well. Thus far my only disappointment has been that the Rivendell book is a bit slim, 12 pages when I assumed it would be 20-30.

    Myths of the Jonstown Compendium

I feel like RQ works great for that. Glorantha as a setting should work as well, but you may need to be a bit picky where you play. A lot of the games set in it circle around "we're in a clan solving problems and being heroes in Sartar" which is less swashbuckling-adventure IMO than REH.

    Myths of the Jonstown Compendium

Like any game, it varies from GM to GM. But you've summarized the general feel pretty well! :) Most of what I've played has been combat-focused dungeon-delving, adapting AD&D modules to a prior edition. RQ works well for this style of play because its dangerous combat makes fights more...

    Myths of the Jonstown Compendium

My recommendations for exploring Glorantha: Find an addict passionate friend, and play in their game. Another good option is hunting down a demo game during a con. AFAICT Chaosium's Cult of Chaos has done well promoting these during digital conventions. Grabbing the free quickstart, The Broken...

A Look at the Jonstown Compendium

It's cool to see the JC getting highlighted! I've been subscribed to ENWorld's newsletter for some time, and it's usually an interesting read. It's great to see Glorantha getting some more exposure. As a content creator, I'd be happy to have my work reviewed on ENWorld. Who should I reach out...
