    items on a bad guy

No, no. A threshold is something you have to step over to get somewhere. A ceiling limits how high you can step. :)

    items on a bad guy

The magic threshold is the magic bonus the NPC is expected to already have. The level 11 guy already has a +2 bonus to defenses and such (details are in the text, check it out); the level 26 guy has +5. When you add a magic item, you only add the part of the bonus that's over the threshold...

Power Cards for whining players or DMs

I like how you can pack your stuff and leave in every round.

experience earned for defeating a PC?

Since the DMG calls statting out NPCs like PCs "too much work for what you really need", but says nothing about changing the XP value when you do, I assume they're supposed to be worth the same as a normal monster. How appropriate that is, I haven't the foggiest.

    Shuriken question

Only ammunition gets used up. Shuriken are listed as weapons, so they don't.

It only means you get five of them for the listed price.

    Pact Initiate Question

I'd go with the text. Most likely they changed it and forgot to update the table.

Rain of steel - too powerful?

Right! :D So to make my statement less ambiguous, one might also argue that "hitting multiple targets" is largely synonymous with "physically injuring several people". (My point in any case is that you can push people through it. If that places it in a category other than "obstacle" and...

Rain of steel - too powerful?

Depends on your interpretation of "attack power", I guess. :)

Rain of steel - too powerful?

... but since you can't enter an obstacle (as per page 284), but you can enter the wall of fire, we know for a fact that it's not an obstacle. One might also argue that "hitting multiple targets" is largely synonymous with "attacking several people".

Unless you have a power that makes an exception. I'm looking at YOU, Warlock's Leap! :D

Is Fighter's Combat Challenge an OA or not?

Actually it's more limited than an OA, since an immediate action can only be used once per round.

Does the character count as his ally

No, allies are always other people (look under "Target" on page 57). If you're included among the potential targets, the power says so outright.

My warlock wants to stab you in the eye!

The same answer also states that two uses of Vampiric Touch *don't* stack. Cursing two people on separate rounds and then getting them killed is more akin to that, in my opinion.

Can you do a "diamond" shaped blast?

I'm not sure if anyone's mentioned this yet, but according to the definitions of close and area attacks on page 271, an area of effect "has a certain size". How does that work with an interpretation that involves changing the size of the area?

How to detain an Eladrin Rogue? ie, teleporting

You don't need line of effect to teleport; only line of sight.

    Eyebite & Divine Challenge Combo

As far as I can tell, the target remains marked and takes the penalty to attacks until the challenge is broken, but he only takes damage from it the first time he makes an attack that doesn't include you. Because the description says "the first time", not "every time".

Can you do a "diamond" shaped blast?

Unless you interpret "a 3-square-by-3-square area" as an area which is 3*3 squares.
