Character Weight & Height I What's your favourite implementation?

I let players choose their height, weight, hair color, eye color, hand dominant hand (not Ambi). Height & weight are used when PCs want to boost one another over/up a wall, crawl through narrow places, drag a comrade, and similar situations. It is not a huge issue, but such things are...

ICv2 Reports Disappointing Year For Hobby Games Channel: TTRPGs Down, D&D Declines 30%

I was thinking on this reply, and this is not what I would consider a FLGS. Or a game store. When I envision a game store, it is a storefront packed with a huge variety of RPG material, minis, bins of dice, etc, with small areas devoted to Osprey books, and occasional support for rockets or trains.

Social Encounters: Does it Matter What and How PCs Speak to NPCs?

I see it as defeating bad accents, improving time use, and supporting the fact that I don't want to do it Putting a category on the book wouldn't change anything, because I am inclined to change anything I want, and regard admonishments & advice from writer as (like setting fiction) as wasted...

    Good Modern Systems

EABA was already recommended, and I was impressed with the (free) Quick Start rules.

It doesn't appear to have any tactical depth, advanced weapon design, or any other features of interest.

ICv2 Reports Disappointing Year For Hobby Games Channel: TTRPGs Down, D&D Declines 30%

Physical retail shops are closing all over the country. Thirty years ago there were 8 or 10 FLGS within an easy drive of me. Today, there's zero.

I gave GURPs another look. I can't deny it, the system is robust and production values are high, but I just cannot go with it. It feels like they hired the same writers the IRS used.

I didn't say it wasn't. I specifically addressed your statement about the lethality mechanic. But its good you have the general publics interests at heart.

I know. Pretty much junk. I dunno what a 'bag' is, but I know how firearms work, and combat shooting.

    Dark Sun versions

I'll be using a different system, as I loathe D&D. But I think I'll Use the original plotline, and look at 4e for flavor add-ons.

Big fan of Brom. I don't normally care about art other than maps, but Brom rocks!

I will go as far as the hole leads. I've run multiple campaigns using Phoenix Campaign or Rolemaster.

Friday Night Firefight is the combat system for CP. It is good.

Thanks. That's what I needed to know.

    Dark Sun versions

Which is the better depiction of the Dark Sun setting: the original boxed set, or the 4e version. Not system, just the setting.

I use Roll20, which does support GURPs. I've looked at GURPS, and while it has high production values, the system does not thrill me. I'll take another look.

    Good Modern Systems

Its a terrible rule. It seeks to simplify combat to an abstract. Its a joke, in terms of full auto, and it leaves no provision for single, aimed fire or short aimed bursts, which are the backbone of modern combat.
