They need to slow down on the licensing new material. This is the same trajectory we saw for every game company from the '90 to today: get a big property (Alien) and start snagging up new properties so fast the licensing fees outrun your cash flow.

This remains one of my favorite game systems. I was running this until very recently, and have kitbashed cyberpunk rules onto it, ran a Stargate campaign using it, and I still regularly do up cars and weapons on the BlackCampbell blog for it.

I agree that the "bang for your buck" with RPGs is high. You buy a book or a few and you have entertainment for life. Add to that the value across a number of people is a higher value over ti e than most other forms. That said, the value of RPGs with higher production values does have...
