Shawn Levy Provides Update on Netflix D&D Show

It really is so ironic that all these Hpllywood writers trample over the canon of established fantasy worlds with central stories, but struggle when presented with one that was specifically designed as a sandbox with a million possibilities without ever having to violate FR canon to do so.

Shawn Levy Provides Update on Netflix D&D Show

Depends upon what part of FR they set it in, the Eastern and Southern Realms are alot less traditional fantasy then the Swordcoast, North, or Heartlands.

Shawn Levy Provides Update on Netflix D&D Show

I've been saying for years that D&D settings are like Star Trek literally made to tell your own stories, until say Star Wars, Middle Earth, Wheel of Time, Witcher, etc..., simply weren't. Those setting might be more fameous and profitable in their respective genres, but they primarily tell a...

D&D 5E (2024) Orc lore in the new Forgotten Realms books?

Really for Airspur its Half Orcs I think mostly, but they don't use that term anymore, so you just have to fill the unspoken part in yourself. I think eventually they will just come up with a new world for Half Orcs and Half Elves, but they haven't yet.

    Netheril's Fall - First Impressions

I mean plus fantasy magic makes sure stuff gets preserved without decay. Plus spells like Legend Lore allows lost lore to be recovered. And like 5 of Netherils cities survived Netheril's Fall. One of them saved by Shar pulling it into the Plane of Shadows, one of saved by Selune (wth is Opus on...

D&D 5E (2024) Just Because a location is not on the Atlas of Faerun doesn't mean its gone.

I'm really not sure why the Sea of Fallen Stars is Salt Water honestly, maybe when it was created the impact released alot of salt from the sight of the impact? Just a guess.

D&D 5E (2024) Just Because a location is not on the Atlas of Faerun doesn't mean its gone.

Yes, but those maps aren't in the Atlas chapter and its more like those maps are just chucked out pieces of the bigger map, then those regional maps being stitched together to form the big map.

D&D General Is the SCAG Still Useful?

I would say Undying got split in two, Undead Patron and the upcoming Sorcerer King Pact (which works well for like Gilgeams warlocks). And lore wish, the SCAG focuses more on history and it covers, abit in a paragraph each, Halruaa, Luirien, and Durpur abd maybe some other regions these books...

D&D 5E (2024) Just Because a location is not on the Atlas of Faerun doesn't mean its gone.

Very detailed, extensive large map, but yes, its not actually an Atlas at all: "An atlas is a collection of maps, often bound together in a book, which can cover the world, a specific region, or a particular subject. These collections can include general-reference maps showing locations and...
