For those who don't play D&D (or its clones), what keeps you engaged with EN World?

I prefer forums to Discord (which is fine for software support etc) but is dire for long form discussion. There are so few forums still around I tend to bounce between them and Reddit for non D&D talk.

    Old Lady Gamer

Back in 1982 I had a couple of females playing in my D&D game, but they never stayed in the hobby. We were all in the last year of school before either getting jobs or going into higher education.

Jeremy Crawford Also Leaving D&D Team Later This Month

Nobody goes into job expecting deal with upset and nasty verbals. Sadly, in the age of social media people are happy to attack and bad mouth individuals. With what has gone on the last few years I hope those individuals that have left have a have a much quieter life and can once enjoy gaming as...

How Will The New Tariffs Affect TTRPG Prices?

A very good explanation of the tariffs by a mathematician:

D&D General Read aloud text in modules: What are folks opinions about read aloud content?

I prefer when modules give you bullet points of the salient facts so you can give it in your own words to the players.

Shadowdark Setting Looks Set To Be 2025's First Million Dollar TTRPG Crowdfunder

I backed the original KS at digital level. Since running a game in Foundry which has great support I have wanted a physical copy of the core book but shipping to UK doubled the price. This KS is very UK and Canada shipping friendly so backed this.

Shadowdark: tips for a new GM?

Light is so important in Shadowdark, the implementation in FoundryVTT is excellent. In my last session first level characters were raiding a "dragons" hoard when the dragon returned (it was more of a giant crocodile with a breath weapon). After 2 rounds their light ran out, one player was down...

    What's your VTT of choice?

Switched to Foundry over 4 years ago. What I like is pay once, you can add modules if you want to to customise the experience or just have a bare bones system. They have a great support network.

D&D 5E What Level is the Party after 56 Sessions?

My last large 5e campaign was 75 sessions of 4 hours each and players were 11th Level.

Here Are 2025's Most Anticipated TTRPGs... As Voted By You!

I have never heard of Legend in the Mist but fair play on them asking their backers on their KS page for them to vote on Morrus poll, seems to have paid off.

    Lightweight, Simple VTTs?

Index Card VTT or ICVTT as it's known. Originally designed for Index Card RPG you can use it for any game. Very lightweight and free. Drag in a map image. Go. No settings, no macros, no chat technology, no options nor toolbars. There are no instructions, no tutorials. Just maps, tokens, dice...

It's Time To Vote For 2025's Most Anticipated TTRPGs!

I did nominate Nimble but it failed to make the poll (don't know if it was a bad link or was just missed).

D&D General 5e D&D to OSR pipeline or circle?

I'm currently running one 5e game (7th level PCs) and two OSR games (Swords & Wizardry Complete and Shadowdark). All are using the same players. As a GM I enjoy running the two OSR games more as there is less prep and they are easier to run. There is not a lot between the two OSR games, SD works...

What TTRPG Is Perfect and Complete In One Volume?

If I could come only keep three books they would be: ICRPG (contains excellent GM advice and you can run any genre). EZD6 (great for one shots and conventions) finally Whitebox: Fantasy Medieval Adventure Game (a clean simple D&D).

Free League's 'Lord of the Rings' Games Explore The Elves

I have all the AiME books, but I prefer the changes they made to LOTR5e. Books are all a must buy for me. It is not to hard to adapt the AiME books to the latest.

Itch.io Down Thanks to Funko Pop's "AI"

I was worried when I couldn't reach my itch.io. webstore. Turns out Itch.io used by gamers and indie RPG publishers has been taken down. Reports from Itch are that Funko was using ‘brand protection software’ which it claims used AI to flag a disputed page, and filed a “bogus” report with...
